What made the DS Lite different?
The DS Lite was a thinner, lighter redesign of the original Nintendo DS. Nintendo describes it as having four-step screen brightness adjustment; its support comparison also notes a brighter screen, a larger stylus and a rechargeable battery that lasts longer than the original DS. Is the Nintendo DS Lite still sold by Nintendo?
Nintendo’s Japanese product page marks the DS Lite as discontinued. That indicates it is no longer listed as a current Nintendo product, but does not determine whether a particular new or used console is available from a retailer or reseller.
