Yandere Simulator has no conventional full-game release date. Its developer describes it as an unfinished project made available in an incomplete state and updated over time. Development began on March 31, 2014; the first official rival, Osana, arrived in August 2020 as a key demo-era milestone.

Was Yandere Simulator released as a finished game?

No single finished-game launch date is given in the developer’s official FAQ. The developer describes Yandere Simulator as a project released while incomplete and periodically expanded with features, activities, characters, weapons, and quality-of-life improvements. In that model, asking when the game “came out” can mean different things: when development began, when people could play a demo, or when a finished version launched. The FAQ says the last of those does not apply in the usual way.

Yandere Simulator’s key dates

Date What happened
March 31, 2014 Development began, according to the developer’s fifth-anniversary post.
March 31, 2019 The developer marked five years of development and described the project as approaching a transition from “sandbox” to “demo,” in the same anniversary post.
August 2020 Osana, the first official rival, was released, according to the official FAQ.
August 30, 2020 The official August 2020 archive lists an “Osana Release Date Announcement Video.” This is the announcement-video date, not verified proof that a public demo build first became available that day.

When did the Yandere Simulator demo come out?

The official FAQ identifies August 2020 as the release month for Osana, the first official rival, and describes the demo as free and available for Windows PC. That makes August 2020 the useful official demo-era milestone. The sources cited here do not establish an exact day when the demo build first became publicly available, so August 30 should not be treated as a confirmed build-release date.

What does “came out” mean for this game?

  • Development start: March 31, 2014.
  • Demo and first-rival milestone: August 2020, when Osana was released.
  • Finished full release: No conventional date is given in the developer’s FAQ; the project is described as incomplete and updated over time.

The FAQ also discusses possible future paid or completed versions as plans, with prices subject to change. Those plans do not amount to a confirmed launch date.
