The latest official Battlefield 6 free trial ran September 15–22, 2026, as part of the Season 4 Tidal Strike event. It has ended. EA’s news listing reviewed through October 2, 2026, showed no later trial announcement, so there is no confirmed next date.
When was the latest Battlefield 6 free trial?
EA’s September 14, 2026 Season 4 Tidal Strike event guide announced a limited trial from September 15 through September 22, 2026. That event window is over. The official Battlefield 6 news listing, reviewed through October 2, 2026, did not show a newer trial announcement. EA has not confirmed another date in the material available as of October 8, 2026.
What content was included?
The trial offered selected Battlefield 6 content, not permanent free access to the full game. EA’s event guide listed Wake Island, Tsuru Reef, Cairo Bazaar, and Hagental Base, with modes and events including Conquest, Escalation, Deep Six, Casual Breakthrough, and Verified Portal experiences.
How to play during a future trial
When EA announces another active window, use the applicable platform’s digital store to get Battlefield REDSEC, then install the required game updates and sign in with an EA Account while connected to the internet. EA’s Battlefield 6 game disclaimer says the limited trial requires REDSEC on the applicable platform, all updates, an internet connection, and an EA Account. EA also states: “Trial can be played once per EA account.”

EA Help describes REDSEC as free-to-play and provides download guidance for supported PC and console platforms. Having REDSEC does not unlock a Battlefield 6 trial when no trial event is active; access to the selected full-game content is tied to a dated event window.
Free Battlefield 6 trial vs. free REDSEC
| Option | What it provides | Time limit | How to access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Limited Battlefield 6 trial | Selected maps, modes, and experiences from the full game, as specified for each event | Only during an announced event window. The latest located window, September 15–22, 2026, has ended. | Through Battlefield REDSEC on the applicable platform, subject to EA’s account, update, and internet requirements |
| Battlefield REDSEC | A separate free-to-play experience, as described by EA Help | No end date for REDSEC is stated in EA Help’s access guidance | Download through a supported PC or console digital store |
EA Help’s REDSEC guide explains its free-to-play status and supported download routes. It is a separate experience, not a continuing free trial of the full game.

Was Battlefield 6 free on Xbox Game Pass?
EA announced a separate Xbox Game Pass Free Play Days promotion for February 19–22, 2026, available to Game Pass Essential tier and above. Those dates have passed, so that promotion does not establish current access. A later Game Pass offer would need its own announcement.
