Treyarch added Stakeout 24/7 to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Featured Playlists on November 8, 2024, with the playlists scheduled to go live at 10 AM PT. Its appeal to camo grinders was straightforward: Stakeout’s compact apartment layout creates frequent close-range encounters, which may suit some combat-action challenges. It does not change camo requirements or guarantee faster progress, and the 2024 announcement does not establish whether the playlist is available today.
When did Stakeout 24/7 arrive?
Treyarch’s November 8, 2024 preseason patch notes listed Stakeout 24/7 among Multiplayer Featured Playlists and scheduled the featured playlists to go live at 10 AM PT after publication. The same listing included 10v10 Moshpit. This was a featured-playlist addition, not an announcement that Stakeout 24/7 would be permanent.
Stakeout had appeared earlier: the September 8, 2024 open beta update made it available in the Gunfight playlist. The later 24/7 listing gave players a dedicated featured option centered on the map.
Why did Stakeout appeal to camo grinders?
A compact map creates close-range opportunities
Activision’s Stakeout map guide describes a small apartment with rooms, a kitchen, bedrooms, balconies, and a central Atrium. Its tight interior spaces make close engagements a defining feature of the map. The guide says shotguns are especially effective in small areas, while noting that every weapon class can perform well; it also recommends shotguns in small spaces for Weapon XP and attachment unlocks.

Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
From that layout, it is reasonable to infer that repeated close-range fights may make some challenges based on eliminations or other combat actions convenient to attempt. That is an inference from the map’s design, not a measured camo-completion advantage. The available official material does not compare completion speeds across maps or weapons.
Camo requirements still depend on the weapon and challenge
Activision’s Black Ops 6 progression guide says weapon camos can be earned without leveling the weapon first. The path starts with nine sequential Military Camos, followed by two Special Camos with criteria that vary by weapon, then individually earned Mastery Camos. Special Camo criteria are usually tied to a weapon’s strengths or playstyle.

Stakeout changes the setting for a challenge, not its rules. A close-quarters map may be a natural fit for a short-range weapon or a challenge that benefits from frequent combat actions, but it may be less comfortable for a weapon or requirement that calls for different engagements. Choose based on the active requirement and how well the weapon fits the map rather than assuming one playlist is a universal shortcut.

The November 8, 2024 notes establish the historical addition, not current availability. Featured playlists can rotate: Treyarch’s Season 01 patch notes, for example, said Nuketown 24/7 replaced Radioactive 24/7 in Featured, Quickplay, and Hardcore Quickplay. The cited notes do not settle whether Stakeout 24/7 is playable on October 8, 2026.

Check the in-game playlist menu, or a current official playlist listing, before planning a grind around it. If Stakeout 24/7 is not listed, the 2024 announcement alone cannot confirm that it remains accessible as a dedicated playlist.
