When was the MindsEye review embargo expected to lift?
Insider Gaming reported that reviews were expected to go live on June 10, 2025. The US PlayStation Store listing gives June 10, 2025 as the PS5 release date, matching the reported expectation. Neither source establishes that Build A Rocket Boy publicly confirmed an exact embargo date or time. Insider Gaming’s report and the PlayStation Store listing support the distinction between a reported expectation and a confirmed embargo notice.

Why was launch day the reported timing?
Insider Gaming reported that outlets reportedly had not received review copies before launch. The outlet also quoted Build A Rocket Boy as saying: “Our entire studio and partners have poured their hearts and souls into this project, and we want everyone to experience the story the same way at the same time on day one, without bias.” The studio’s stated rationale, as quoted by Insider Gaming, was that reviewers would wait until the official release date to play through the game firsthand. This is an attributed statement in that report, not an independently confirmed primary-source quotation.
Did reviews actually appear on June 10?
The reported expectation should not be treated as proof that all reviews published on launch day. GamesRadar+ published a MindsEye review on June 13, 2025, three days after the listed PS5 release date. One review’s publication date does not establish when other reviews went live. GamesRadar+’s review is a post-launch example.
