The review embargo for Resident Evil Requiem was reported to lift on February 25, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. Pacific Time (10:00 a.m. Eastern). That date has passed. The game released on February 27, 2026, two days later. The embargo timing came from a leaker’s post relayed by Insider Gaming, not from an official Capcom announcement, so this article separates what was reported from what Capcom has confirmed.
Where the embargo date came from
Insider Gaming published the report on February 17, 2026. It attributed the timing to Dusk Golem (AestheticGamer), a leaker who covers the Resident Evil series, and quoted a February 16 social media post in which Dusk Golem wrote: “Review embargo for Resident Evil Requiem is on February 25th.”

Capcom’s official releases establish the game’s release date and platforms. They do not state an embargo date. Treat the February 25 timing as a secondary report based on a named leaker’s post, published before the event it described.
Review publication times by time zone
Insider Gaming converted the embargo into the time zones below. The times are as printed in its report; they describe the embargo that was reported, not a schedule confirmed by Capcom or by any outlet.

What Capcom confirmed
- Release date: February 27, 2026, according to Capcom’s announcements.
- Embargo: not stated in Capcom’s official releases. The February 25 timing rests on Insider Gaming’s report.
- Current status: both the reported embargo and the release date are in the past as of October 8, 2026.

- More than 5 million units sold: Capcom announced on March 4, 2026 that worldwide sales of Resident Evil Requiem had surpassed five million units. This is a game-specific figure as of that date.
- More than 183 million franchise sales: Capcom’s cumulative series figure as of December 31, 2025. This covers the whole Resident Evil franchise, not Requiem alone.
- More than 170 million franchise sales: Capcom’s earlier cumulative series figure as of March 31, 2025, which appeared in its original game announcement. The 183 million figure is the more recent one.
How to verify embargo timing for a future release
The Requiem case shows how embargo information tends to spread: a leaker posts a date, a news outlet reports it with attribution, and the publisher’s own materials may say nothing about it. When checking a future review embargo, use this order:

- If only a leaker or secondary outlet reports a date, confirm whether the outlet links to the original post and whether the post is dated.
- Convert any published time from the named time zone, not from your local clock, and watch for date changes across the Pacific, Asian and Oceania rows.
- Treat a reported embargo as provisional until reviews are actually published.
For Resident Evil Requiem, the reported timing is the only embargo information available in the sources reviewed here, and it stands as a historical report rather than an official schedule.
