Alliance and Horde characters use different PvP vendors at low honor ranks, and at Rank 6 both factions move to a faction hall in their capital city. The table below gives each location for original WoW Classic-style honor ranks, and the sections after it explain how the answer changes by game version.
Where the PvP vendors are, by faction and rank

The halls are entered at Rank 6. Reaching that rank opens the hall in your capital; it does not by itself mean you can buy every item stocked there. Item access is covered in the rank section below.
How to find the vendor in the city
- Travel to your faction’s capital: Stormwind City for Alliance, Orgrimmar for Horde.
- Alliance characters at Ranks 1–5 should head to Old Town in Stormwind and look for Officer Areyn.
- Horde characters at Ranks 1–5 should go to the Valley of Strength in Orgrimmar and look for Sergeant Ba’sha.
- Once your character reaches Rank 6, go to Champion’s Hall (Alliance, Old Town) or Hall of Legends (Horde, Valley of Strength).
- If the vendor is not where this guide places it, open your in-game map and check the city before assuming the vendor has moved. Location changes are covered below.
Which version of Classic you are playing
“WoW Classic” covers several active game branches, and the vendor layout depends on which one you play. Confirm your branch before you search.
Classic Era and Season of Discovery
Blizzard’s Anniversary Edition Phase 2 announcement states: “Phase 2 of the Anniversary Edition introduces the updated Honor System currently in use on both WoW Classic Era realms and in Season of Discovery.” The ranks and locations above apply to this system. Because Blizzard’s announcement is dated to the Phase 2 rollout, check current patch notes if your realm has since changed.

Mists of Pandaria Classic
Expansion Classic can use different vendor placement. On July 26, 2025, Blizzard community manager Kaivax posted about the Mists of Pandaria Classic PvP vendors. The Alliance and Horde vendors were temporarily placed on the second floors of Shrine of Seven Stars (Alliance) and Shrine of Two Moons (Horde). The post said: “The in-game map should show their new locations.” Blizzard later stated that the Honor and Conquest vendors had returned to their original locations on the Serpent’s Spine with the Landfall update. The evidence available here does not give the exact date of that later update, so treat the Shrine locations as a historical placement unless your in-game map shows otherwise.
Other expansion Classic branches
Blizzard has not established a single vendor layout across every expansion Classic branch in the sources reviewed here. If you play a branch other than those above, use the in-game map rather than the locations in this article.

Rank requirements for honor gear
Honor-rank gear is gated by rank, and the vendor you visit only sells what your rank allows. Wowhead’s Classic honor-set guide (updated January 5, 2025, labeled Patch 1.15.8) lists the rare set as available across Ranks 7–10 and epic pieces at Ranks 12–13. Those are the guide’s figures for that patch, not current values for every realm.
Anniversary Edition rank caps depend on phase. Blizzard’s Phase 2 announcement said the Honor cap would start at Rank 11 and extend to Rank 14 later. Check your realm’s current cap before planning a purchase.

If the vendor is not where you expect
- Confirm your game branch: Classic Era, Season of Discovery, Anniversary Edition, or Mists of Pandaria Classic.
- Confirm your faction and current honor rank in the game’s honor display.
- Open the in-game map of the capital city and look for the vendor’s current position.
- Check the most recent Blizzard patch notes for your branch, since the Wowhead guide cited here dates from January 2025.
