To find one, check the house-party worlds—especially World 330—and enter a player’s open house. These worlds are places to look, not a live guarantee that a host is available.
Which worlds should you check?
The OSRS Wiki lists these house-party worlds for gilded altars:
| World | Region listed by the OSRS Wiki |
|---|---|
| 330 | United States east |
| 426 | Australia |
| 465 | Germany |
| 512 | United Kingdom |
The OSRS Wiki’s gilded altar page identifies these as house-party worlds. World 330 is a prominent place to start; Rimmington and Yanille are also noted as locations where players often host open altars on that world. The list does not show which houses are open right now, so availability can change.
How do you find and use an open altar?
- Choose a listed house-party world. Start with World 330, or choose the listed world corresponding to your region.
- Look for a player with an open house. Enter the house and check that its Chapel contains a gilded altar. A listed world alone does not mean a host is online.
- Light both burners if available. The OSRS Wiki reports the altar grants 250% Prayer experience per bone with no burner lit, 300% with one lit, and 350% with both lit.
Where is the altar in the house?
A gilded altar is a built house feature, not a public altar at a fixed outdoor map location. The OSRS Wiki says it is constructed in the Chapel of a player-owned house, requires level 75 Construction, and awards 2,230 Construction experience when built. Its listed examine text is “A gilded marble altar with a symbol of Saradomin.”

Are World 31 and Yanille still reliable alternatives?
Archived RuneScape forum posts document players advertising altar hosting on World 31 and in Yanille. Those posts show past community practice, not a current official assignment or confirmation that a host is active there today. A 2025 article also describes player-owned houses and World 330 as a common place to look, but it is not a live host directory: CyberPost’s 2025 overview. The forum examples are historical: “Gilded Altar Available” and “Altar Clan Chat”.
