Use a phone to choose Call Cab > Explore Old Town, then select Pet Paradise from the community-lot map.
How to get to Pet Paradise
- Use a phone and select Call Cab > Explore Old Town.
- When the Old Town community-lot map appears, choose Pet Paradise. The shop is at 70 Elm Street.
- Enter the shop and use the display pen, aquarium, terrarium, or bird cage for the kind of pet you want.
The pet center is part of The Sims: Unleashed, which introduced Old Town pet shops. GameSpot’s 2002 preview describes the pet center as an Old Town feature; Pleasant Sims’ 2021 guide gives the address and in-game route.

Which pets can you get there?
Cats and dogs
Click a cat or dog display pen and choose the adopt interaction. Pleasant Sims’ guide reports an in-game adoption price of §399; the player chooses the pet’s gender and appearance before naming it.
Fish, turtles, and iguanas
Click the relevant aquarium or terrarium and choose Buy. The purchased small pet is placed in your Sim’s inventory. It needs a matching aquarium or terrarium at home, which you can purchase in Buy Mode.

Budgies and lovebirds
Click a bird cage and choose Buy to purchase a budgie or lovebird. Other birds that appear in the shop are not available to buy, according to the guide.
If the adoption option is missing
Make sure your Sim is visiting Old Town through an ordinary Explore Old Town trip. Pleasant Sims notes that a Sim brought there on a date will not see the cat or dog adoption option.

What you need to play
Pet adoption and the Old Town pet center are features of The Sims: Unleashed. A GameFAQs guide also describes traveling to the adoption center to buy pets. The cited guides and period coverage establish the in-game route and interactions, but do not establish current retail availability or compatibility for the expansion.
