EA games do not all save to one shared folder. The location depends on the specific game and platform, and cloud saving is not universal. For The Sims 4 on Windows or Mac, open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4; its save files are in the saves subfolder. For another EA game, check that title’s support guidance rather than assuming it uses the same path.
Where are EA game saves stored?
There is no single save-file location for every EA game. A game may store local saves in a user folder separate from its installation files, and different titles can use different directories. The EA app’s install location is therefore not a reliable way to find a game’s save data.
For example, EA’s The Sims 4 backup instructions point to a folder under Documents, while an EA staff forum response for Titanfall 2 single-player progress gives a different path. That forum answer is title-specific and should not be treated as a general EA rule. Microsoft also documents multiple Windows save-path patterns based on the game’s save system, rather than one universal location: Microsoft’s game-save documentation.
Where are The Sims 4 save files?
On Windows and Mac, the The Sims 4 user folder is Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. Open its saves subfolder to find the game’s save files. EA says the The Sims 4 folder appears in Documents only after you have played the game once; if it is missing, launch the game and check again. See EA’s backup and reset guide for the folder and save-management steps.

Does the EA app save every game to the cloud?
No. Cloud-save support depends on the game. EA says enabled PC cloud saves transfer automatically in the context of updating an operating system, but also notes that some games do not have cloud-save capability. EA’s EA app update guidance also says Mac saves require manual transfer in that update context.
The Sims 4 is a specific exception: EA’s Sims 4 FAQ says the game does not support EA app cloud storage. Do not assume that signing into an EA account will restore a deleted local save. Check the current support information and save options for the particular game before relying on synchronization.

How to find and back up a save safely
- Identify the game and platform. Search the official support page for that title’s save or user-data location; do not assume the folder beside the installed game contains saves.
- For The Sims 4, inspect the documented folder. In Documents, open
Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves. If the folder is not there, launch the game once and check again. - Copy saves before changing files. Before a reset, migration, or troubleshooting attempt, copy the relevant save folder to a separate location. EA recommends backing up The Sims 4 files and restoring files in stages to identify a problematic save.
- Confirm the copy works before discarding the backup. Load the game and check that the copied saves appear before removing the separate backup.
How to transfer The Sims 4 saves from PC to Mac
EA’s PC-to-Mac transfer instructions use a manual copy rather than EA app cloud storage:
- On the PC, copy the entire
savesfolder fromDocuments > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4to a flash drive or another separate storage location. - On the Mac, launch The Sims 4 once if needed so its Documents folder is created.
- Copy the saved
savesfolder intoDocuments > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4on the Mac. If a destinationsavesfolder already exists, preserve or rename it before replacing files. - Open the game and confirm the saves load before deleting the original copy.
Example of another EA save location
An EA staff forum response identifies Documents > Respawn > Titanfall2 > profile > savegames for Titanfall 2 single-player saves. The response distinguishes that local single-player progress from multiplayer progress held on EA servers. Because this is an older, game-specific forum answer, use it only as a lead for that title and verify current guidance if you are troubleshooting.
