There isn’t one Minecraft Bedrock saves folder for every device. On Android, the path depends on the world’s File Storage Location setting; on Windows, Minecraft’s in-game Export World option is the most reliable way to make a portable copy. Xbox and Apple devices use different backup routes.
Find or back up a Bedrock world on Windows
To make a portable copy without relying on a particular Windows installation’s folder layout, export the world from Minecraft:
- Open Play and select the pencil icon beside the world.
- In General Settings, go to File Management > Export World.
- Choose where to save the exported file when prompted.
A legacy UWP install may store worlds under %localappdata%PackagesMicrosoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbweLocalStategamescom.mojangminecraftWorlds. The minecraftWorlds directory contains world folders. This path is version-sensitive and does not describe every current Windows package. If it is missing, use the in-game export option rather than assuming the legacy path applies. Find Bedrock worlds on Android
In Minecraft, open Settings > Storage > File Storage Location. The selected option determines where worlds are stored and which worlds appear in the game.

Application
This is the default. Worlds are kept in Minecraft’s application data and are not available as separate files for manual copying to a computer.
External
World files are accessible at Android/data/com.mojang.minecraftpe/files/games/com.mojang/minecraftWorlds. “External” means outside the app’s private data; it does not necessarily mean an SD card. Android storage restrictions can prevent some file-browser apps from opening this directory.
To copy an External world to a computer, connect the Android device by USB, select File Transfer or MTP, then copy the minecraftWorlds folder or the folder for a specific world. If a world is missing from the Play screen, check the storage setting and switch between Application and External to look for worlds stored in the other location. Back up worlds on iPhone or iPad
Minecraft’s documented manual backup method uses a Mac. Connect the device, open it in Finder, select its Files section, expand Minecraft, and copy the games folder to another location. Minecraft also notes that the games folder can be backed up with iCloud. These steps apply to worlds created on that iPhone or iPad. Minecraft Help: iOS backup instructions.
Manage Xbox worlds without a folder path
Xbox worlds are managed through Minecraft and Xbox cloud saves rather than a user-facing folder. In Minecraft, open Settings > Storage > Manage Worlds to review storage and cloud status. Minecraft identifies worlds as cloud-synced, cloud-only, or local-only; the world information screen provides upload and download actions. Download a copy of a Bedrock Realms world
To download a Realm world, go to Play > Realms > Realms Hub > World > Slots, open the menu beside the target world, and select Download World. The downloaded copy appears in All Worlds and can then be copied from the device’s file storage. Minecraft Help: download a Realms world.
