Where to Farm Wild Ginseng in Crimson Desert: Three Reliable Routes

By VGSources Team 8 min read

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The clearest Wild Ginseng farming routes reported for Crimson Desert are in Pailune. A cave near Longroots is reported to contain three plants, while a cliff-enclosed alcove east of Longbranch is reported to contain five. A separate route on Silver Wolf Mountain, southeast of the Abyssal Gate, has approximately two or three plants. All three locations come from third-party guides and player reports rather than an official Pearl Abyss location list, so treat the counts as practical targets rather than guarantees for every patch or save.

If you want the largest single cluster, start with the Longbranch alcove. If you want the simplest landmark-based search, start at the Abyss Nexus near Longroots and look for the cave below the ledge.

Route Reported plant locations How you enter Key landmarks
Longroots cave Three Drop from a ledge into a cave below Abyss Nexus near Longroots, northern Pailune
Longbranch cliffside alcove Five Climb the rock above the enclosure and drop in East of Longbranch, near a lake, Pailune
Silver Wolf Mountain Approximately two to three Climb to a small outcrop Southeast of the Abyssal Gate, close to an outpost

The Longbranch count is the highest reported for one of these routes, but the guide describing it calls it the richest known source rather than an official ranking. Node counts, accessibility and terrain can change with updates, and no official patch note or developer map in the available documentation confirms a fixed total.

Longroots cave: three plants near the Abyss Nexus

The Longroots route is in northern Pailune. The route description uses the Abyss Nexus as its navigation anchor, making it useful when your map does not display precise coordinates.

Step-by-step route

  1. Travel to the Abyss Nexus near Longroots.
  2. From the Nexus, look for the nearby ledge described by the guide. Do not stay on the upper path expecting the plants to be in the open.
  3. Drop down from the ledge and inspect the rock face below for a cave entrance. The entrance can be easy to miss when approached from the wrong angle.
  4. Enter the cave and search the interior for the reported cluster of three Wild Ginseng plants.
  5. After harvesting, leave a marker on your in-game map at the entrance or ledge. A player recommendation to mark the location is navigation advice, not a special gathering mechanic.

This is a vertical approach rather than a long ground-level search. If you reach the lower terrain without seeing an opening, return to the ledge and check the cliff line again; the route depends on finding the cave below that drop.

What to expect from the cave

The three-plant figure is a guide-reported cluster. Wild Ginseng nodes are said to respawn over time, but no source establishes a reliable interval in minutes or hours. Do not plan a timed circuit around an assumed respawn countdown. Instead, harvest the cave, continue to another location, and return later to see whether the nodes have reappeared in your version of the game.

Longbranch alcove: the five-plant cliff route

East of Longbranch, near a lake area in Pailune, a guide reports an enclosed alcove containing five Wild Ginseng plant locations. Cliffs surround the space, so the entrance is not at ground level.

Step-by-step route

  1. Reach Longbranch and travel east toward the nearby lake area.
  2. Search for the cliff-enclosed depression rather than a normal path or doorway. From the surrounding terrain, the area may look inaccessible.
  3. Climb the rock above the alcove. You need to gain the upper rim before attempting to enter.
  4. Drop down from the top into the enclosed space.
  5. Search the floor and edges of the alcove for the five reported plant locations, then mark the drop point for your next visit.

Because the route requires a climb followed by a controlled drop, approach from the highest stable section of rock you can find. If you drop outside the enclosure, climb back up instead of circling the cliffs at ground level; the guide specifically describes entry from above.

Why this route is often recommended

Five reported locations make Longbranch the largest single cluster among the clearly described routes. “Richest known source” is the guide’s characterization, not an official game statistic. It is therefore better to use the alcove as a high-density farming stop than to assume it is permanently the best location after every update.

Silver Wolf Mountain: an additional reported stop

Playnews described a Wild Ginseng spot on Silver Wolf Mountain on May 11, 2026. It is southeast of the Abyssal Gate and near an outpost. This route is more exposed than the two Pailune clusters and relies on visual landmarks.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Step-by-step route

  1. Start at the Abyssal Gate and travel southeast toward the nearby outpost.
  2. Climb the mountain until you find a small outcrop with large trees and lavender.
  3. Inspect the ground around that outcrop for the small red stems identified by the guide as Wild Ginseng.
  4. Harvest the plants you find and mark the outcrop so you can distinguish it from the surrounding mountain slopes.

The guide estimates two to three plants at this location and says a harvest may yield one to four pieces. Those are approximate guide figures, not guaranteed results per node or per visit. Weather, visibility, terrain angle and the red stems’ size can make this stop harder to identify than the cave or alcove.

Other places mentioned by guides

A video-guide description also lists Wandering Woods, Long Roots, Rudipetra Institute, Steel Mountains, Giyeong Grotto, Cradle of Government, Smoky Lands and Deep Forest. These names are leads rather than fully documented farming routes: the description does not supply precise landmarks, coordinates or a confirmed plant count for each.

The same description warns that some listed sites may be connected to quests or private property. If a marker appears to be inside a restricted area, do not assume the plant is permanently unavailable; check whether a quest, ownership state or other progression condition is blocking entry.

Using map markers without overcounting locations

The Greymane Codex interactive map displays Wild Ginseng markers, including entries labelled “Wild Ginseng” and “Wild Ginseng x2.” A search result shows five Ginseng entries, but that display should not be read as proof that the entire game contains only five plants. Entries can represent grouped markers, partial map coverage or individual map records rather than a global inventory of every node.

Use the map as a way to cross-check landmarks, then confirm each marker in your own game. When you find a node, place an in-game marker and name it by route—such as “Longroots cave entrance” or “Longbranch drop.” Record whether you harvested it and whether it was present on a later visit. This gives you a personal route log without treating a third-party marker count as a guaranteed world total.

A practical farming loop

Because no verified respawn timer is available, the most dependable method is a route loop rather than repeated visits to one node.

  1. Start with the Longbranch alcove. It has the largest reported cluster, but make the climb and drop before deciding whether the area is accessible in your current progression.
  2. Move to Longroots. Use the Abyss Nexus as the anchor, drop from the ledge and check the cave’s three reported locations.
  3. Check Silver Wolf Mountain when you are already near the Abyssal Gate. Look around the outcrop with large trees and lavender rather than searching the entire mountain.
  4. Mark every confirmed node. Keep separate markers for the approach and the actual cluster if the terrain makes the entrance difficult to recognize.
  5. Leave the region and pursue another activity. Return later instead of waiting at one empty node for a timer that has not been established.

This loop is a practical way to test the reported locations; it is not a guaranteed shortest path or a promise that every stop will be available simultaneously.

When a reported location does not work

You cannot find the Longroots cave

  • Return to the Abyss Nexus and inspect the ledge above the reported cave area.
  • Check below the ledge, not only along the upper trail; the route requires a drop.
  • Approach from more than one angle because the cave entrance can blend into the rock.
  • If the terrain or landmark differs from the guide, mark your current position and compare it with the Longroots area rather than assuming the plants were removed.

The Longbranch alcove seems sealed

  • Stop searching for a ground-level entrance. The guide’s route enters from above.
  • Climb the rock around the lake-side enclosure and look for a safe drop point.
  • If you cannot climb the surrounding rock, try another side of the rim; the visible height can vary with your approach.
  • Consider progression restrictions if the entire area behaves like private property or a quest space.

No plants are present

  • You may have harvested the nodes recently. The available guide only says that nodes respawn over time and gives no fixed interval.
  • Leave the area, complete other activities and check again later.
  • Verify that you are looking for the correct visual model: Silver Wolf Mountain’s guide describes small red stems near large trees and lavender.
  • Compare your map marker with the landmark, not just with a broad regional name such as Long Roots or Deep Forest.

A quest or property blocks the route

The video-guide description specifically flags possible quest or private-property restrictions for some listed sites. That warning is not a confirmed requirement for the Longroots, Longbranch or Silver Wolf Mountain routes, so do not infer a universal unlock level. If a gate, ownership state or quest boundary prevents entry, continue with an accessible route and revisit the blocked location after progression changes.

What is and is not confirmed

The strongest usable evidence is route-specific: three plants in the Longroots cave, five locations in the Longbranch alcove, and approximately two or three plants at the Silver Wolf Mountain outcrop. The Silver Wolf Mountain guide also estimates one to four pieces per harvest. None of these figures is presented as an official global statistic.

Exact coordinates, patch-specific accuracy, quest unlock requirements and a respawn schedule remain unconfirmed in the available documentation. For that reason, keep your own map markers and treat counts as observations to verify in your current build. The routes are still useful because each is tied to recognizable landmarks and a clear access method, which is more reliable than searching an entire region at random.
