Where to Find All Anomalous Voices Anomalies in Destiny 2 (Historical Guide)

The Anomalous Voices quest had nine anomalies, one at Bray Exoscience on Europa and eight in Encore. Here is where each one was found, plus what Bungie's removal of Episode: Echoes means for playing it today.

The Anomalous Voices quest originally had nine anomaly interactions: one on Europa at Bray Exoscience and eight in Encore. The locations below describe where those anomalies were found in the original quest. Bungie has since removed the Episode: Echoes quests, so treat this as a historical reference rather than a checklist you can complete today. The current availability of the quest, its anomalies, and its reward is covered in the first section.

Current status of the quest and the Before Aurora emblem

Bungie’s Destiny Content Vault documentation lists Episode: Echoes among the vaulted Year 8 seasonal narratives. A Bungie support response says the Echoes quests were removed when Edge of Fate launched, and that Encore remained available in some form through Ops. Encore’s continued availability does not mean the Anomalous Voices quest or its anomalies still exist in the game.

The evidence does not establish whether you can currently pick up or complete Epilogue: Anomalous Voices, interact with all nine anomalies, or earn the Before Aurora emblem. Use the directions below to understand the historical layout, and check Bungie’s official channels if you want to confirm whether any of these interactions still function.

What the quest involved

Epilogue: Anomalous Voices was the final quest in the Episode: Echoes chain, offered by Failsafe after the episode’s story. Its first step sent players to a temporal anomaly near Bray Exoscience on Europa. The second step asked players to investigate eight anomalies in Encore. Historical walkthroughs state that completing the quest awarded the Before Aurora emblem.

Europa: the Bray Exoscience anomaly

Bray Exoscience on Cadmus Ridge

This was the single anomaly outside Encore. Its location is described in historical walkthroughs as follows:

  1. Land at Charon’s Crossing on Europa and travel to Cadmus Ridge.
  2. Enter the Bray Exoscience building and descend until you reach the large room with the red central platform.
  3. Clear the Fallen in the room.
  4. Check to the right, behind the glass.
  5. Enter the area behind the glass and interact with the purple anomaly. This opened the Vex simulation.

Encore: the eight anomaly locations

The eight Encore anomalies are separate from the Europa step. Several are tied to puzzle sections, Vex arenas, or Planetary Pistons, so the landmarks matter more than exact distances. Written walkthroughs differ slightly in how they describe some puzzle sequences, so the descriptions below rely on the landmarks each guide shares.

Anomaly 1: starting plateau

At the start of Encore, leave the main path and go to the front-left side of the plateau, left of the Vex waterfall. Look over the cliff, where descending ledges or steps lead down to the anomaly.

Anomaly 2: first Connection module puzzle

In the first Connection puzzle area, work through the module and node sequence until the wall barrier opens. The anomaly is tucked beside the wall, around the corner from the second node or conflux.

Anomaly 3: white tower Vex arena

In the white tower Vex arena before the first Planetary Piston, check the far-left side of the arena before you move through the puzzle wall.

Anomaly 4: tower and portal puzzle

In the tower and module puzzle section, use the portal associated with the Connection bridge. Immediately after the portal, turn left and inspect the corner beside the wall.

Anomaly 5: combat area after the dual bosses

After the dual-boss fight, pass through the portal and tunnel into the next combat area. Before you cross the gap, look left among the vegetation near the Vex fluid.

Anomaly 6: second Planetary Piston area

In the large combat area with the dome-shaped building and the second Planetary Piston, search the left side of the area.

Anomaly 7: encounter before Maya’s lab

In the area before Maya’s lab, defeat the Hydra and Cabal, then turn back toward the way you entered. The anomaly is on the cliff or in the left corner.

Anomaly 8: Nexus and Deletion puzzle route

The final anomaly is the easiest to miss. Historical guides place it on the Nexus and Deletion puzzle route, behind a wall near the yellow-module room. Those guides say you needed to activate the simulation or conflux to reach the relevant portal route. Step-by-step maze directions for this section are not consistent across written walkthroughs, so rely on the yellow-module room and the conflux as your reference points rather than a fixed sequence of turns.

Quick reference for the route

  • Europa has one anomaly, behind glass in Bray Exoscience.
  • Encore has eight anomalies, starting with the plateau near the Vex waterfall and ending on the Nexus and Deletion route.
  • The Encore anomalies sit in puzzle sections, Vex arenas, and combat areas, so the landmarks in each entry are more reliable than exact positions.
