In Chapter 9, Ancestral Forge, destroy three wolf statues with shield throws to lower the barrier around the Wraithstone. The first is behind a Secret Key gate near the start, the second is in the open area beyond a combat encounter, and the third is beside the Wraithstone shrine.
How the wolf statue puzzle works
All three statues are tied to the barrier around the Wraithstone. Hit each one with a shield throw; once all three are destroyed, the barrier drops and you can collect the Wraithstone at its shrine.

Wolf statue locations in Ancestral Forge
1. Behind the Secret Key gate near the start
Look for a locked Secret Key gate along the path toward the open area. PC Gamer places it on the right side of the path before the first Sentinel Shrine, while Game8 describes it as near the entrance to the Ancestral Heart. If you passed the gate earlier, collect the Secret Key and return to it. The first wolf statue is behind the gate; destroy it with a shield throw.
2. On the left side of the open area after combat
Continue into the open area and clear the combat encounter near the first Sentinel Shrine. The second statue is on the left or western side of the area, between the two ancestral hearts on the left side of the map. Throw your shield at it once the encounter is over.

3. Beside the Wraithstone shrine
At the Wraithstone shrine, check the nearby rock face for the third statue jutting out above or beside the shrine. PC Gamer places it to the shrine’s top left; PowerPyx describes it as next to the Wraithstone after the first red combat encounter. Use a shield throw to break it.
Collect the Wraithstone
After destroying all three statues, return to the shrine. The barrier should be down, allowing you to collect the Wraithstone.

Navigation note
Walkthroughs describe the statues with relative directions such as left, right, west, northeast, and top-left. These can vary with map orientation and where your character is facing, so use the Secret Key gate, Sentinel Shrine, ancestral hearts, and Wraithstone shrine as landmarks rather than relying on compass directions alone. The locations here are based on secondary walkthroughs, not independently verified in-game coordinates.
