Search Technological loot areas, especially large breachable electrical cabinets, server racks, and computer terminals. The most consistently recommended spots are Research & Administration on Dam Battlegrounds and the Space Travel building in Buried City. The upper sections of Spaceport’s Launch Towers are another reported option. None of these locations guarantees a Cooling Fan or has a published drop rate.
Best Cooling Fan locations
Research & Administration — Dam Battlegrounds
PC Gamer’s route starts at the main administration entrance. Take the zipline behind the desk, follow the corridor, then turn into the room with broken blinds. Multiple electrical cabinets there are the priority targets, rather than ordinary desks or drawers. See the full route at PC Gamer.
Space Travel — Buried City
Space Travel is the red, high-value building in central Buried City. Check the large breachable terminals and cabinets on floors 3, 4, and 6; stairwell signs identify the levels. PC Gamer specifically recommends the sixth floor, while Shacknews advises starting with the larger terminals. MetaForge also recommends beginning on floor six and working downward. Raiders frequently contest this building, so the loot opportunity comes with elevated PvP risk.

Launch Towers — Spaceport
Destructoid reports Cooling Fans in the upper portions of Spaceport’s Launch Towers. Its recommendation is based on run experience, not a controlled spawn-rate study. Look for the map’s Technological loot areas while climbing the towers. Details: Destructoid.
#1 Best Overall
- Streamlined Fan Connections: Daisy-chain multiple fans together and control them all through just one 4-pin PWM connector and one +5V ARGB connector.
- Lighting Made Easy: Eight LEDs per fan shine bright with customisable lighting through your motherboard’s built-in ARGB control (requires compatible motherboard).
- Precise PWM Speeds: Set your fan speeds up to 2,100 RPM while providing up to 72.8 CFM airflow to your system.
- CORSAIR AirGuide Technology: Anti-vortex vanes direct airflow at your hottest components for concentrated cooling, pushing air in the direction you need when mounted to a radiator or heatsink.
- High Static Pressure: RS fans work well as radiator fans with a static pressure of 2.8mm-H2O to push through obstructions.
How to search efficiently
- Choose the practical destination. Use the location that matches your current map, spawn, extraction plan, and tolerance for player competition.
- Prioritize Technological containers. Breachable large electrical cabinets are the strongest target; also check server racks and larger computer terminals.
- Clear a compact route. At Research & Administration, follow the zipline-and-corridor route. At Space Travel, sweep floors 6, 4, and 3 (or reverse the order if your entry point makes that safer). At Launch Towers, search upper tower sections.
- Extract when the risk outweighs the search. A Cooling Fan is a rare item according to MetaForge, and no source establishes a guaranteed container, so do not spend an entire run opening unrelated furniture.
Location comparison
| Location | What to search | Primary risk or limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Research & Administration, Dam Battlegrounds | Multiple electrical cabinets in the room reached via the main entrance, desk zipline, corridor, and broken-blinds turn | No guaranteed spawn or measured drop rate is published |
| Space Travel, Buried City | Large breachable terminals and cabinets on floors 3, 4, and 6 | High-value site is often busy with Raiders |
| Launch Towers, Spaceport | Technological loot in the upper tower sections | Recommendation is anecdotal; no comparative rate is available |
Expedition requirement and item use
PC Gamer and Shacknews report that five Cooling Fans are needed for Expedition Stage 2, and MetaForge’s Expedition 1 Phase 2 reference also lists five. Treat that number as the requirement reported by those dated guides rather than a live official confirmation, because progression requirements can change.
MetaForge classifies the Cooling Fan as Rare, Technological, and recyclable into crafting materials. If you are collecting for the Expedition, avoid recycling the five you still need.

- High performance cooling fan, 120x120x25 mm, 12V, 4-pin PWM, max. 1700 RPM, max. 25.1 dB(A), >150,000 h MTTF
- Renowned NF-P12 high-end 120x25mm 12V fan, more than 100 awards and recommendations from international computer hardware websites and magazines, hundreds of thousands of satisfied users
- Pressure-optimised blade design with outstanding quietness of operation: high static pressure and strong CFM for air-based CPU coolers, water cooling radiators or low-noise chassis ventilation
- 1700rpm 4-pin PWM version with excellent balance of performance and quietness, supports automatic motherboard speed control (powerful airflow when required, virtually silent at idle)
- Streamlined redux edition: proven Noctua quality at an attractive price point, wide range of optional accessories (anti-vibration mounts, S-ATA adaptors, y-splitters, extension cables, etc.)
What is not established
- No reviewed official source provides a spawn table or numeric probability.
- There is no evidence here that any location guarantees a Cooling Fan.
- Night Raid has not been shown by a published statistic to change Cooling Fan odds.
- The guides do not provide a measured drop-rate comparison between Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, and Spaceport.
In practice, rotate between the recommended sites and repeat the Technological-container sweep that best fits your route. Space Travel offers several named targets but carries the clearest competition warning; Research & Administration provides a compact cabinet route; Launch Towers are a useful alternative when Spaceport is your available map.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- Ultra-Portable: Slim, portable, and light weight allowing you to protect your investment wherever you go
- Ergonomic Comfort: Doubles as an ergonomic stand with two adjustable height settings
- Optimized for Laptop Carrying: The metal mesh provides your laptop with a stable laptop carrying surface
- Ultra-Quiet Fans: Three ultra-quiet fans create a noise-free environment for you
- Extra Usb Ports: Extra USB port and power switch design allows for connecting more USB devices. Warm Tips: The packaged cable is USB to USB connection. Type C connection devices need to prepare an Type C to USB adapter

- 【High Performance Cooling Fan】 Automatic speed control of the motherboard through the 4PIN PWM fan cable interface, which can determine the speed according to the temperature of the motherboard, with a maximum speed of 1550RPM. Configured with up to 55cm of cable for PWM series control of fans, ideal for cases and CPU coolers.
- 【Quality Bearings】The carefully developed quality S-FDB bearings solve the problem of pc cooling fan blade shaking in lifting mode, keeping fan noise to a minimum while providing maximum cooling performance when needed and extending the life of the fan.
- [Excellent LED light] The high-brightness LED atomizing argb fan blade can effectively reflect the light, making the ARGB lighting effect softer, and it matches the cooler and case more perfectly. Up to 17 modes of light effects with ARGB support, color can be managed and synchronized through the port on motherboard.
- 【Silent Fan Size】 Model: TL-C12C-S X5, Size: 120*120*25mm, Speed: 1550RPM±10%, Noise ≤ 25.6dBA Connector: 4pin pwm, Current: 0.20A, Air Pressure: 1.53mm H2O, Air Flow: 66.17CFM, Higher air flow for improved cooling performance.
- 【Perfect Match】The PC fan can be used not only as a case fan, but is also suitable for use with a cpu cooler to create a cooling effect together, which can take away the dry heat from the case and the high temperature generated by the CPU in operation, allowing for maximum cooling; Ideal for cases, radiators and CPU coolers.
