Fallout 4 has 20 Vault-Tec bobbleheads. Seven raise one S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attribute by one point, and thirteen grant permanent utility or weapon bonuses. The tables below list every location, along with the landmark inside that location where the item sits. Effects are as listed in the Fallout Wiki’s Fallout 4 bobblehead table, which is community-maintained.
S.P.E.C.I.A.L. bobbleheads
Each of these raises its matching attribute by one point permanently. Collection timing changes the result, so read the notes after the table before you pick one up.

How SPECIAL timing affects the bonus
The PowerPyx guide, dated 2015, reports that a SPECIAL bobblehead’s bonus depends on the attribute’s value when you collect it:
- Collected at 10: the attribute can rise to 11.
- Collected below 10: the bobblehead does not let later level-ups push that attribute past 10.
If you are building toward an 11 in a particular attribute, leave its bobblehead until that attribute reaches 10.

Quest-gated and timed pickups
- Charisma (Parsons State Insane Asylum): The PowerPyx and SteelSeries guides tie access to the Special Delivery, Emogene Takes a Lover, and The Secret of Cabot House quest chain. The SteelSeries guide, dated 2026, also reports a console bug in Emogene Takes a Lover that can block access in an affected save. I could not find a verified fix, so if the item stays out of reach after completing that chain, treat it as a possible bug in that save rather than a missed step.
- Energy Weapons (Fort Hagen Command Center): The Fallout Wiki lists this bobblehead as accessible only during or after the Reunions quest.
- Science (Malden Middle School / Vault 75): The guide places this item in the science labs and notes that a Gunner Commander access card is required.
Planning a collection route
- Sort your list into SPECIAL items, which depend on attribute timing, and utility or weapon items, which do not.
- Check the three quest-gated items before you travel, so you know whether a trip will succeed.
- Plan by access notes rather than difficulty. Several sites involve combat, but the sources describe only selected cautions and do not give a consistent difficulty rating for all 20 locations.
Missability, awards, and display
PowerPyx reports that none of the 20 bobbleheads are missable, though some require quest progress and can be collected later. That is the guide’s report, not a guarantee against bugs or platform-specific issues.
The same guide says that collecting the full set unlocks two awards: “They’re Action Figures” and “They’re Not Dolls.”

Collected bobbleheads can be displayed on a bobblehead stand that you craft at a settlement. A stand is also present in the player room in Vault 81.

- Fallout Wiki, Fallout 4 bobblehead table: lists all 20 locations, landmark clues, and effects. It is community-maintained, so verify any placement that does not match its clue.
- PowerPyx, 2015: states that there are 20 bobbleheads and reports the awards and the no-missable note. Because it is dated 2015, its statements may not reflect later changes.
- SteelSeries, 2026: adds quest-access and route cautions, including the Charisma console bug.
- Bethesda’s Fallout 4 manual material: confirms the game context but does not list the bobbleheads.
The sources do not establish how each placement behaves on every platform or after every patch, so the clues above are the most reliable way to locate each item.
