Collection Keys in Radical Highway are picked up inside the stage, and each key opens one matching Collection Box elsewhere in the game’s White Space. The sources behind this guide do not establish a verified, landmark-by-landmark list of every key in Radical Highway, so this page separates what is confirmed from what still needs to be checked in-game, and explains how keys and boxes differ so you can search for the right thing.
Keys and boxes are separate collectibles
Most confusion around “Collection Box Keys” comes from treating the key and the box as one object. SEGA’s online manual for Sonic × Shadow Generations describes them as two parts of one system.

Keys in Radical Highway
The most useful lead is a YouTube video titled Sonic X Shadow Generations: All Collection Keys Locations. Its description says it covers Collection Keys in regular and challenge acts. A search result for the video points to a Radical Highway Act 1 segment starting at 28:45. The video page available to this article did not expose a transcript or the individual route landmarks, so the timestamp is a place to look, not a confirmed route. Act 2
No Act 2 segment or key list is established here. Treat Act 2 as a separate search and record its keys yourself.
How to check keys yourself
- Open the manual’s Collection Keys entry at manuals.sega.com to confirm that keys are obtained within stages in your version.
- Enter Radical Highway through the Black Moon, then start Act 1.
- Play Act 1 with the 28:45 segment open in a second window. Compare each key you see with the video’s landmark and note any key the video does not show.
- Start Act 2 with no reference and record each key’s landmark as you find it.
- Keep a short list for each act with three fields: the landmark, the act, and the Collection Box the key opens. Use the list to confirm that every key you collected has a matching box.
Collection Boxes in White Space
Boxes are not in Radical Highway itself. They are scattered throughout White Space, and each one opens only with its matching key. A separate YouTube video titled ALL 96 Collection Box Locations in Sonic x Shadow Generations! (All Collection Boxes Collected!) advertises a 96-box total. This article has not confirmed that count against the game or an official source, so treat 96 as the video’s claim, not a verified figure. - The landmark for each Radical Highway key in Act 1 and Act 2.
- Whether the 28:45 segment covers all of Act 1’s keys.
- Which Radical Highway keys, if any, sit in challenge acts. The video description mentions challenge acts, but this article has not confirmed a challenge-act key in Radical Highway.
- Whether the community stage page’s access notes are complete.
Until those points are confirmed in-game, the reliable answer is the one above: keys come from the stage, boxes come from White Space, and each key only opens its own box.
