Siege – Part 1 is Chapter 6 of DOOM: The Dark Ages. To clear its secrets and collectibles, sweep the battlefield clockwise from the entrance: south to west, then north and east. Pick up the Secret Key near the starting Sentinel Shrine first; it opens purple-key gates along the route.
PowerPyx’s 2025 guide counts 11 secrets and gives a 22-location route that also includes gold, collectibles, and mission challenges. The 11 named collectible entries—four rubies, two Demonic Essence, two codex entries, two toys, and one weapon skin—are a category count, not a competing total of route stops; Push Square’s 2025 checklist corroborates those categories. The directions below follow the guides, not independent hands-on verification.

Start at the shrine and sweep the west side
Get the Secret Key and Slayer toy
From the starting Sentinel Shrine, look just north for the Secret Key near the middle of the battlefield. Take it before exploring the nearby purple-key gate to the west: the key opens that gate and other gates later in the chapter. The Slayer toy is behind this first gate.
Find the first ruby, waterfall secret, and first cannon
Head to the west side and clear the encounter to lower the barrier around Ruby 1. North of the ruby, follow the route through the first artillery cannon. Destroying it counts toward the Siege Breaker challenge and reveals gold. At the edge of the area, check behind the waterfall for a life-sigil secret.

Explore the northwest gore portal
At the northwest gore portal, climb the wall to reach a hidden area. In its purple-gated room, collect the Impaler – Nightmare weapon skin. Nearby, swim through the passage into the water room, use the switch to lower it, then dive back to reach the ruby.
Take the blue portal north of the northwest portal
Follow the armor trail north to the blue portal and enter the secret area. It contains a gold chest and a leader encounter; defeat the Mancubus leader to earn the ammo Demonic Essence. The second artillery cannon is northeast of this portal.

Clear the central and northern battlefield
Use the next gore portal’s blue portal
In the next gore-portal room, enter the blue portal. Work through the switches and shield interactions, then climb the crates and charge through the wall to reach the secret. Continue along the route to the Chainshot and gold chest.
Collect the codex entry and Ruby 3
West of that portal, climb the metal beam and rocks to reach the Siege – Part 1 codex entry. The nearby purple-key gate leads to Ruby 3. From there, follow the drops, climbable walls, breakable wall, armor trail, and gold chest in sequence. These connected paths contain two more secret areas; do not try to skip directly to the final chest.

Check the large statue
Farther north, find the Mancubus toy at the feet of the large statue. Look down from the statue’s left side for the Kreed Maykr codex entry and nearby gold.
Finish the east and south side
Get the armor essence and third cannon
At the eastern gore portal, defeat the Pinky Rider leader to earn the armor Demonic Essence. Check the nearby wagon for gold, then continue farther south to the third artillery cannon.

Search the pools and broken wall
South of the third cannon, dive into the pool bordered by two lights to find a secret gold chest. A little farther south, break the wall in the corner to uncover another secret and gold.
Complete the final gore-portal route
Near the final gore portal, defeat the demon encounter and enter the blue portal. Break through the wall, use the shield to lower and cross the blocks, drop the bridge, and follow the stairs to the final secret and gold chest. Return to the bridge route and pull the lever to open the way forward.

Lower Ruby 4’s barrier and destroy the last cannon
Near a wolf statue, Ruby 4 is behind a barrier. Throw the shield at all three wolf statues: one on the rocky ledge, one under a fallen tree, and one on a rock ahead. Once the barrier falls, collect the ruby. The fourth artillery cannon is north of it; destroy it and collect the final gold.

PowerPyx lists these challenges for Siege – Part 1:

The Flail challenge becomes available after you collect the weapon near the start. For the parries, PowerPyx says you can use one Hellknight or fight Hellknights during gore-portal encounters. The cannon locations are listed along the route above.
What the chapter totals include
PowerPyx’s 2025 checklist reports 513 gold, four rubies, one ammo Demonic Essence, one armor Demonic Essence, 11 secrets, two codex entries, two toys, one weapon skin, and three mission challenges. Push Square’s May 2025 checklist independently lists the 11 named collectible entries: four rubies, two Demonic Essence, two codex entries, two toys, and one skin. These category counts do not mean there are only 11 stops on the broader route.
