Its three event resources spawn on the Haunted Floating Island: Haunted Crow Feathers by the Scarecrow, Haunted Skeleton Fish beside Zero’s House, and Haunted White Roses beside the Haunted Mansion. The Terror-rific Tree and Potion Brewer’s cauldron need those pickups, while the cauldron also calls for fish from the Valley.
How to reach the Haunted Floating Island
Enter through the event portal in the Plaza or use the event-menu teleport option. Gameloft’s Season of Scares update notes say the 2026 festival runs October 7–31 and features new and returning puzzles with seasonal rewards. The portal and teleport flow are also described in the official 2025 event article; its prior-year schedule does not apply to this run.
Where to find the three Haunted Floating Island resources
The locations, pickup caps, and respawn timings below are current walkthrough details reported by the community-maintained Dreamlight Valley Wiki, rather than figures given in Gameloft’s event announcement.
- Haunted Crow Feathers: Pick them up near the Scarecrow. Up to three can be available at once; the wiki reports a 10-minute respawn.
- Haunted Skeleton Fish: Pick them up beside Zero’s House. Up to three can be available at once; the wiki reports a 10-minute respawn.
- Haunted White Roses: Pick them up beside the Haunted Mansion. Up to three can be available at once; the wiki reports a 15-minute respawn.
For a large collection, take what is available, work on another task or wait, then return for another pickup cycle.

What the Terror-rific Tree needs
Put these quantities in the tree’s item container:
- 20 Haunted Crow Feathers
- 15 Haunted Skeleton Fish
- 10 Haunted White Roses
The nearby clue book describes the materials as riddles; all three are collected at the island locations above.

What to put in the Potion Brewer’s cauldron
Add one Haunted White Rose, one Catfish, two Haunted Skeleton Fish, and one Swordfish. The rose and event fish come from the Haunted Floating Island. Catch the other two fish in gold ripples in their respective biomes:
- Catfish: Peaceful Meadow
- Swordfish: Dazzle Beach

Use the symbol clues around the island and count their adjacent pumpkins to determine the sequence. Set the Combination Pillar to:

Answer the armor’s questions in this order:
- Blue pumpkins on the island: Six
- Animal in the Scary Surprise Box: A cat
- Graves at the festival: Seven
- Ghostly “Zero” Fox’s favorite food: Blue Skele-Fish
Haunted Mansion book puzzle placements
Move each named book from its starting room to the destination shown:
- Boo! The Big Book of Bat Facts by Paul Tergeist: back room to front room
- Frightening Flowers by I.M. Skaired: front room to hallway
- The Chilling Cosmos by T. Rick Ortreat: hallway to storage room
- Terrifying Tunes by Major Frite: storage room to back room

Lost Magic Page
The community wiki reports that this combination puzzle is in a locked bedroom. It becomes accessible with a Repaired Haunted Key after completing the Missing Books puzzle.

Ninth puzzle
As of October 7, 2026, the wiki lists the ninth puzzle as scheduled for release on October 18, but its solution is TBA. No requirements or answer are established yet.

Optional: feed the Ghostly “Zero” Fox
The wiki says the Ghostly “Zero” Fox eats Haunted Skeleton Fish and awards one memory piece per day. Four daily feedings are needed for the full memory, so this is a separate use for the same event fish collected beside Zero’s House.
