Once you have the required farming systems, you can also grow it on an Eco-Farm or in the AIC Planting Unit. It is mainly a processing ingredient: it can be shredded into food or materials, and its derivatives feed into healing tacticals and medicine production.
Where to gather Jincao
The most direct source is the overworld subarea Jingyu Valley: Stragglers Grove. Game8’s Jincao acquisition guide, last updated April 7, 2026, names this area as the normal gathering location, and the item database for Jincao lists the same subarea. Because both guides date from spring 2026, check the in-game map if a later update has moved resources around.
Growing Jincao for a steady supply
If you need Jincao repeatedly rather than in a single trip, cultivation is the alternative. Two systems are documented for it.
Eco-Farm cultivation
Game8’s guide says Jincao can be cultivated and harvested from an Eco-Farm. You obtain Jincao seeds through the Seed-Picking Unit, then use those seeds to craft a plot on which to grow the plant.

AIC Planting Unit (Fluid Mode)
The END Wiki factory tutorial describes a separate production method in the AIC Planting Unit. It requires Fluid Mode, which must be unlocked before the method works.
- Unlock Fluid Mode for the Planting Unit.
- Place Clean Water in the Planting Unit.
- Place Jincao Seed in the Planting Unit.
The tutorial names these two inputs but does not describe the slot layout or any on-screen prompts, so confirm the placement in the Planting Unit’s interface when you set it up.

What Jincao is used for
The Jincao item description says the plant can be shredded to make food or materials for other products. The production-chain data then connects its derivatives to specific outputs:
- Jincao Tea is described as restoring operator HP, which places it among the healing options for tactical use.
- Jincao Solution is processed into medicine.
- Shredded Jincao serves as a material input for other crafted products, as the item description states.
These uses come from in-game item text and the END Wiki production-chain entries. Public guides do not give exact HP values or potency figures for the derivatives, so check the item tooltip in your own save for current numbers.

Choosing between gathering and cultivation
The two routes answer different needs. The table compares them on the points that current guides support.

No consulted guide gives reliable timing or yield figures for any route, so the choice depends on whether you need Jincao immediately or want a repeatable supply.

About the plant itself
The Jincao item entry calls it “silkstar grass,” a name tied to its star-shaped flowers, and says it usually grows on shaded hillslopes. This is flavor text from the item description. It describes the plant’s appearance and habitat in general terms rather than providing a route, so use the named subarea above for where to actually find it.
