It is a separate item from the standard Lucarionite used by Mega Lucario, which is bought from Quasartico Inc. If you are looking for the Z stone, the mission is the route, not the shop. The sources checked for this guide name the mission and the reward, but they do not describe how to unlock the mission, where it takes place, or how its battle plays out, so the sections below separate what is confirmed from what is not.
Where Lucarionite Z comes from
Serebii’s item listing for Pokémon Legends: Z-A describes Lucarionite Z as a mysterious Mega Stone that allows a Lucario holding it to Mega Evolve. Its listed acquisition source is Side Mission 197, “Ultra-Hardcore Lucario Showdown.” Serebii’s Items page is the primary reference for this entry.
A Game8 search summary gives the same mission and adds two details: that Side Mission 197 is the only way to obtain the stone, and that it can be earned once per save file. The Game8 page itself could not be opened when the sources were checked, so treat the one-per-save detail as reported by that summary rather than independently verified.
Lucarionite Z compared with standard Lucarionite
The two stones are easy to confuse because they share a name and a Mega Evolution role. They are obtained in completely different ways.

What your console needs
Mega Dimension is a DLC pack for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Nintendo Support’s DLC guide states that Mega Dimension is compatible with both Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The base game must also be present on the console, either as a physical game card or as a virtual game card copy.

- As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.
The official Pokémon Legends: Z-A site, which lists the latest updates, shows a Switch 2 Edition and Mega Dimension bundle scheduled for October 29, 2026. As of this writing, October 8, 2026, that bundle has not yet released.
The sources checked do not confirm whether Side Mission 197 is part of Mega Dimension or is available in the base game. Check that before you buy anything.

How to check your route before you start
- Confirm that the base game is on your console, either as a physical game card or as a virtual game card copy. Nintendo Support requires this for DLC play.
- Confirm whether your copy includes Mega Dimension. The sources checked do not say whether the mission depends on the DLC.
- Look for Side Mission 197 in your in-game mission list. If it does not appear, it may be locked behind progress or content you have not reached. The sources checked do not say what that is.
- Before following any step-by-step instructions, compare them with a current walkthrough. The sources checked describe the mission and reward but not the unlock steps, location, or battle sequence.
Once you have the mission, the reward is the Lucarionite Z stone. The Serebii listing says it is the only stated acquisition source, so the Quasartico Inc. shop will not provide it.
