Where to find Nikvard
In the Opus Magnum side quest, Nikvard is not inside Castle Trosky. He is dead on the cliffs below the guard tower, outside the castle. Search beside his body to find the missing book, “Lightbringer’s Secret.”

- Exit Castle Trosky through the gate near the gallows.
- Follow the path around the castle toward the cliffs below the guard tower.
- Search beside Nikvard’s body for “Lightbringer’s Secret.”
Do you need to question the castle staff first?
No. You can go straight to Nikvard’s location without speaking to the cook, maid, or stableboy. The clue-led route is optional: speak with Scribe Erazim about the missing book, gather clues, then return and conclude that it fell into the privy. That deduction provides a marker for the search area.
Why the search leads outside
The privy clue explains the trail: Nikvard took the book to the latrine, where it fell in, and went outside the castle to look for it. Whether you follow the clues for an in-game marker or travel directly, the destination is the same.
