Where to search in the Scrap Yard
Broken Monument sends you to the Scrap Yard on the southern edge of Dam Battlegrounds. The quest’s landmarks point to three nearby search areas; the exact spawn points can vary or change with updates, so treat these as landmark directions rather than guaranteed coordinates. GameSpot’s guide also describes the area around the Field Depot, tubing, and containers.
Compass: broken-down vehicles
Search the containers around the cluster of broken-down vehicles for the First Wave Compass.
Video tape: cylindrical containers
Look around the cylindrical containers—described in guides as tanks or drums—for the First Wave Video Tape.

Search the Raider camp for the Old Field Rations. GameSpot describes a box inside the Field Depot, a landmark associated with this part of the Scrap Yard.
How to complete Broken Monument
- Enter Dam Battlegrounds and travel to the Scrap Yard.
- Search the three landmark areas: broken-down vehicles, cylindrical containers, and the Raider camp. The quest listing marks the objectives “IN ONE ROUND,” so complete all three searches before leaving that raid.
- Pick up each quest item when it appears after searching. Searching a container alone may not register the objective; manually collect the spawned item.
- Extract with all three items, then deliver them to Tian Wen to finish the quest.
The quest listing identifies What We Left Behind as the preceding quest and lists Arpeggio I, Compensator II, and 80 Medium Ammo as rewards.

Check that you searched the correct landmark and collected the item that appeared, rather than only interacting with the container. If the landmark is correct but the item is absent, the available guides do not establish whether a specific update changed its spawn or interaction behavior; search nearby containers in the same area and complete the objective in another raid if needed.
