The earliest free flashlight—called a torch in the guides—is in the Waterwheels area of Slatten Dale. Enter the building with the rusty yellow sign above its doorway and check the table in the back-right corner. If you are already near Bunker L7, there is another early torch by a dead Outlaw at the entrance.
Find the free torch at Waterwheels
- Leave the Interchange and follow the Slatten Dale route toward Waterwheels. A useful landmark just outside the Interchange is a red phone box, noted in Loot Level Chill’s torch guide.
- At Waterwheels, look for the building with a rusty yellow sign above the doorway.
- Go inside and search the table in the back-right corner for the torch.
The sign and table are the clearest landmarks for finding the pickup. Another guide associates the location with a Hobb’s Quarry Mining Company building at approximately 28.0 E, 75.0 N, but those coordinates are approximate; use the room landmarks to identify it. Clawsome Gamer’s location guide

Alternative: check Bunker L7
A TechRaptor guide hosted on Steam places another torch beside a dead Outlaw at the entrance to Bunker L7. This is a separate option, so it may be more convenient if you have already reached the bunker. The guide also says the torch makes nearby pickup items glow.
Can Molly Jowett provide a torch?
A search-result excerpt from PlayStationTrophies.org reports that Molly Jowett can supply a torch through trade. The page itself was inaccessible, so treat this as an unconfirmed alternative and check whether the trade is available in your game.
