It opens the locked Maintenance room door inside the tunnels. If you are trying to get into the tunnels from Slatten Dale, you need a different item: the Concrete Shelter Key, held by Molly Jowett.
Where to find the Sewer Tunnel Key
- Enter the Sewer Tunnels and make your way to the Casterfell Woods section.
- Follow the route to the Control Room. Destructoid describes reaching the elevated highway in Casterfell Woods and entering a concrete shelter/control room; the key’s location is corroborated by Gamer Guides’ item reference.
- Loot the body in the Control Room to collect the Sewer Tunnel Key.
- Use the key on the locked Maintenance room door inside the tunnels. Guides report a B.A.R.D. Crate and supplies, including a Training Stimulant, beyond the door; the exact loot list is not guaranteed.
Destructoid’s route guide and NightlyGamingBinge’s key guide also place the key in the Control Room and identify the Maintenance door as its use.

Are you looking for the key to enter the tunnels?
The Slatten Dale entrance is a separate lock. It takes the Concrete Shelter Key, not the Sewer Tunnel Key. Molly Jowett holds the Concrete Shelter Key at her Trader Camp, described in guides as downhill from the entrance. The reported route is to obtain it through barter. See Insider Gaming’s entrance-key guide for the acquisition options it describes.
- Concrete Shelter Key: opens the Slatten Dale entrance; held by Molly Jowett.
- Sewer Tunnel Key: found on a body in the Casterfell Woods Control Room; opens the Maintenance room door inside the tunnels.
Insider Gaming also reports a hostile way to obtain Molly’s entrance key, but killing her costs you a trade partner. That is not required to get the Sewer Tunnel Key inside the tunnels.

Use landmarks rather than coordinates
Secondary guides differ on precise coordinates for the entrances and Molly’s camp. The consistent directions are the Slatten Dale Trader Camp for the Concrete Shelter Key and the Casterfell Woods Control Room for the internal Sewer Tunnel Key. Use those region and landmark cues rather than relying on a coordinate unless you have checked it against your current in-game map.
