On the website, Settings is behind the gear icon in the upper-right corner. In the mobile app, it is behind the three-dot More menu. Roblox asks for your account password before it creates a set, and it shows that set only once.
Generate a recovery-code set
You need to be signed in to reach this setting, so do these steps while you still have access to your account.
- Sign in to your Roblox account on the website or in the app.
- Open Settings. On the website, click the gear icon in the upper-right corner. In the mobile app, tap the three-dot More menu, then choose Settings.
- Select Security.
- In the recovery-codes section, select Generate. On some website layouts this section appears on the right side of the page, so look there if you do not see it in the main column.
- Enter your account password when Roblox prompts you.
- Copy the codes and store them somewhere only you can reach, such as a password manager or a printed copy kept offline.

Roblox’s support pages describe these routes in general terms. They do not confirm that every account, device, or region shows identical menus, so if a label differs on your screen, follow the same sequence of Settings, then Security, then the recovery-codes section.
Rules that affect how you store the codes
- The set is shown once. Roblox’s guidance says you can view the generated codes only once. Once you leave that screen, you cannot reopen the same set to read it again.
- Each code works one time. A used code cannot be reused to sign in.
- A new set replaces the old one. Generating a new set disables every code from the previous set, so keep only the most recent set once you have it saved.
- The number of codes is not stated. Roblox’s support material used for this guide does not say how many codes a set contains, so check the list on screen before you leave the page.
If you lost your codes or cannot sign in
Because the lookup happens inside Settings, a locked-out account cannot generate a fresh set on its own. Your options depend on whether you can still reach a sign-in method.

- You are signed in on another device or session: Go to Settings > Security and select Generate. This creates a new set and disables the old, lost codes.
- You cannot sign in, and no verification option is available: Roblox directs you to its Customer Support. This is the route Roblox points to when none of its available verification methods can be used.
Roblox’s troubleshooting guidance says to create a new recovery-code set by following its instructions for adding two-step verification. If that path is blocked because you cannot sign in, contact Customer Support rather than searching for third-party recovery tools.
Keep the codes private
Roblox’s Keep Your Account Safe guidance states: “Never give out your password, browser cookies, 2SV security codes, backup codes, personal details, or sensitive computer information either.” The guidance adds that Roblox employees will never ask for any of these. Treat any message or call that asks for your codes as a scam, even if it appears to come from Roblox.

A related feature: Enhanced Protection
Roblox also offers a separate Enhanced Protection feature. It requires passkeys for sign-in and two-step challenges, and it requires either a verified phone number or backup codes as an additional identity-verification layer. Roblox’s guidance says a hardware security key can be registered as a passkey on Chrome and Android. This is adjacent context only. You do not need it to find or regenerate your recovery codes.
