How to get Divinity in Destiny 2
Divinity is tied to a quest and a raid completion, rather than a conventional weapon drop farm. The final quest step requires the Garden of Salvation puzzle sequence and completion of the raid in the same run. The walkthrough below is based on a community-maintained guide; Bungie’s official Update 9.1.0 notes confirm a fix for an issue that prevented players from acquiring the quest, but do not provide these step-by-step instructions.

Community guide to the Divine Fragmentation quest · Bungie Update 9.1.0 patch notes
Divine Fragmentation quest steps
- Start the quest on the Moon. Go to the Garden of Salvation entrance in Lunar Battlegrounds and trigger the Vex encounter. According to the guide, a Minotaur drops the item that starts Divine Fragmentation.
- Scan three Vex cores on Nessus. Visit the Orrery, the Conflux, and Ancient’s Haunt Lost Sectors and scan the Vex cores there.
- Repair the core. Defeat 120 Sol Divisive Vex to collect Decryption Core Fragments. The guide points to Lunar Battlegrounds as a place to find Sol Divisive enemies.
- Empower the core. At the Lectern of Enchantment, spend 30 Phantasmal Fragments to obtain the Empowered Decryption Core.
- Complete Garden of Salvation and its puzzles. With the quest active, solve the seven tethering puzzles and finish the raid in that same run. Players without the quest can help with the puzzles, but the guide says they do not receive Divinity from that completion.
The quest quantities and locations above come from the community guide, whose publication year is not stated. Check your in-game quest text if an objective differs.

Plan for the Garden of Salvation step
Do not treat the raid puzzles as a separate activity that can be finished now and followed by a later raid clear. The guide’s instructions call for solving the puzzles and completing Garden of Salvation in the same run. Organize a fireteam and allow time to finish the full raid; anyone expecting to earn Divinity should have the quest active.
If Divine Fragmentation is missing
Bungie support recommends checking Eris’s inventory on the Moon and the Quest Archive in case you previously picked up the quest. If it is absent from both and the problem persists, Bungie asks players to capture evidence of the issue.

Bungie’s September 9, 2025 Update 9.1.0 notes state: “Fixed an issue where the Divine Fragmentation quest to earn Divinity could not be acquired.” That confirms a known acquisition issue was fixed in that update; it does not establish whether a later problem has occurred. The available sources establish the Divine Fragmentation quest and Garden of Salvation route. They do not verify an alternative such as purchasing Divinity from the Monument to Lost Lights, so this guide does not treat that as an option.
