To use Buddha’s Light Jade in The Promised Light, collect both halves—Yang from the Palace of Annals campaign and Yin from the Bodhi Sea campaign—unlock the Jianghu Legacy, then place the Light Jade on the rooftop pedestal at Buddha’s Light Pagoda during Wu Hour (11:00–1:00 in-game). This opens the pagoda’s ground-level entrance; it does not complete the quest.
Get both Buddha’s Light Jade halves
The two campaign rewards are distinct items, and you need both for The Promised Light.
- Buddha’s Light Jade: Yang: Complete the Palace of Annals campaign.
- Buddha’s Light Jade: Yin: Complete the Bodhi Sea campaign.
If you have only one half, finish the campaign that awards the other. Game8’s walkthrough lists both campaigns among the quest requirements: Game8 guide. Additional walkthroughs from TheGamer and Polygon describe the same campaign rewards.
Unlock The Promised Light
Reach 6,000 Qinghe Exploration Points, then speak with the Wayfarer in Sundara Land to unlock the Jianghu Legacy. The walkthrough sources also identify the two campaigns as prerequisites, so make sure both jade halves are in your inventory before heading to the pagoda.

Place the Light Jade at Buddha’s Light Pagoda
- Go to Buddha’s Light Pagoda at Halo Peak and climb to the rooftop.
- Find the pedestal and set the in-game time to Wu Hour, which the walkthroughs give as 11:00–1:00 in-game. Use the game’s time menu to move the clock into that window.
- Interact with the rooftop pedestal to place the Light Jade.
The interaction opens the pagoda entrance at ground level. It is an access point for the next part of the quest, not its ending.
Continue inside the pagoda
Enter through the ground-level entrance. Use Wind Sense to locate the lever, then activate it to open the trap door. Continue through the dungeon’s puzzle sequence to progress through The Promised Light.

If the jade or pedestal is not working
- You have Yin but not Yang: Complete the Palace of Annals campaign.
- You have Yang but not Yin: Complete the Bodhi Sea campaign.
- The legacy or pedestal is unavailable: Check that you have both halves, reached 6,000 Qinghe Exploration Points, and spoken with the Sundara Land Wayfarer.
- The pedestal will not accept the jade: Check that the in-game clock is within Wu Hour (11:00–1:00).
- The entrance is open but you are stuck: Go inside at ground level and use Wind Sense to find the lever.
These steps are reported by three secondary walkthroughs rather than official game documentation. If a patch changes the interaction or timing, verify the requirement in-game.
