This spoiler-forward route follows Little Fu’s footprints from the Ash Pit through the sewers, Ghost Revelry Hall, the Dark Room, Human Market and the prison depths, then explains the Zhuxie Gule fight and the finale. The route and fight details below are reported by Nerd’s Chalk’s walkthrough, updated January 2, 2026; they have not been independently tested. Read the walkthrough.
Unlock Unbound Cavern and enter the Ash Pit
Progress through Chapter 2: Universal Furnace and the Accident main quest. Nerd’s Chalk places the Wheeling and Dealing quest immediately before Unbound Cavern and directs players to the Ash Pit in Kaifeng City.

- At the Ash Pit, eavesdrop on the government soldiers, then drop down.
- Examine the ground marks to identify Little Fu’s footprints and follow them into the Underground Sewers.
- Speak with the Listener and continue deeper, following the next set of footprints.
- Look for a chest to the right of a fire and a hole farther along. Speak with the Bell Ringer to learn Fu’s location, then go through the hole by the fire and collect the chest on the way.
Clear Unbound Cavern and reach Ghost Revelry Hall
Continue through the dark sewer until you reach Unbound Cavern members. Defeat them to unlock the cavern as a teleport waypoint, then free the Nine Mortal Ways disciple on the ground. The disciple gives you a key and information about Ghost Revelry Hall.
- Use the key to open the gate on the right.
- Follow the red lanterns to another gate, defeat the guards, and open it.
- After the cutscene, defeat the enemies and the Aureate Bell Bearer’s group, then fight Ge Feng.
- When the fight is over, speak to the woman on the stage.
Find the Dark Room
The Dark Room is easy to miss because the direct route is blocked. From the second floor, go to the right and check the door locked from the inside. Instead of trying to force it, loop around through the corridor.

- Continue down the corridor and open the door on the left to circle around the locked door.
- Go left around the second floor until you reach a door with singing audible behind it.
- Enter to find the Faceless. After the fight, talk to the frightened girl in the corner.
Cross the Human Market and prison depths
Head to the Human Market and open the gate that leads back to the sewers. Follow the route down, clear the thugs, then take the gate to the left of the locked gate. In the dark, low area beyond, drop through the hole into the water, crouch under the gate, and continue to the cutscene.
In the Human Market, defeat the enemies, gain the high ground, and approach Lord Xiao’s group. Push through the door on the right to enter the prison depths. After dropping into a hole and fighting, move to the crates and squeeze through. The walkthrough says you can either defeat the next enemies or run past them and jump from the ledge.

Defeat Zhuxie Gule
On the platform, you face Zhuxie Gule. Nerd’s Chalk’s key combat instruction is to shoot the bird after the boss’s unblockable attack. If you are too slow, Zhuxie restores health. Watch for the unblockable move so you can respond to the bird before that recovery occurs.
Finish the Layered City Ruins sequence
After the Zhuxie Gule encounter and cutscene, swim toward the light. You wake with the Skyward Pendant. Activate the Boundary Stone to unlock the Layered City Ruins waypoint, then continue until you find Little Fu; she runs away, so chase her to Dao Lord.

The walkthrough describes two phases. In the second, Dao Lord splits into three enemies: Dao Lord Hammer twice and Dao Lord Hook. Defeat them to trigger the reveal that the Dao are three sisters, one of whom is Little Fu. The sisters then disappear.
