How to join Velvet Shade on the documented global route

- Raise the relationship to Intimacy Level 2: Companions.
- Travel to Crimson Cliff and speak with Shi Yimo to exchange vows.
- Request partnership severance and divorce.
- Wait through the required 24-hour divorce cooldown.
- Return to Shi Yimo and complete the divorce by paying 50,000 coins.
- Check for the Velvet Shade invitation and use the available Join Sect option.
If the invitation does not appear after the divorce, the documented workaround is to marry another player again. The invitation may trigger after the remarriage rather than appearing immediately after the first divorce.
The marriage-intimacy process allows up to three Seeking Fate letters per day. The cited guide lists Green Ant Wine as worth 150 intimacy points and Peach Branch as worth 125 intimacy points.

There is no verified evidence in the supplied sources that a specific 2,000 Elegance or appearance score guarantees Velvet Shade membership. The idea is repeated in guides and community posts, but it should not be treated as a confirmed requirement.
The wiki’s general joining text says to increase Elegance, while the more recent global-client walkthrough documents the marriage–divorce route as the usable method. The same walkthrough reported that the cosmetics or Elegance route was unavailable on the global version on January 8, 2026. In other words, increasing Elegance may be relevant to another client, version, or future implementation, but it is not a reliable substitute for the documented global route.
Velvet Shade’s weapon and rewards
Vernal Umbrella
Velvet Shade’s signature weapon is the Vernal Umbrella. Its listed skills are:

- Apricot Heaven
- Unfading Flower
The umbrella is the clearest expression of the sect’s aesthetic: elegant, theatrical, and floral rather than overtly militaristic.

No verified daily or weekly numerical cap was provided for those individual activities, so the 1,200 weekly Reputation limit should not be misrepresented as a separate cap for each activity.

What to do if Velvet Shade is unavailable
No invitation after divorce
First confirm that the 24-hour cooldown has elapsed and that the divorce was completed with Shi Yimo for 50,000 coins. If the invitation still does not appear, remarrying another player is the documented workaround.
No Join Sect option
One guide reports that a missing Join Sect option can mean Velvet Shade is still locked on that game version or that the relevant Flower Ranking system has not launched. This is reported availability behavior, not an official version note, so client and version differences matter.
Conflicting Elegance instructions
Do not assume that reaching 2,000 Elegance guarantees entry. The numeric requirement is unverified, and the global walkthrough identifies the marriage–divorce method as the currently documented route.
