If you want to use RPCS3, check the emulator’s computer requirements rather than looking for a compatible PS4 firmware.
Why PS4 models are not compatible
RPCS3 emulates PlayStation 3 software. The project describes it as a PS3 emulator and directs users to computer system requirements in its official project README. A PS4 is a different console, not one of the computer platforms identified for running the emulator. The project documentation does not list any PS4 hardware revision as a supported host.
That means there is no PS4 model comparison to make for RPCS3: choosing a different PS4 revision does not change whether the emulator can run on the console.
Does PS4 firmware version matter?
No. PS4 system software is not the firmware prerequisite for RPCS3. The relevant system software is for the PlayStation 3 being emulated; Sony provides that separately on its PS3 system software page. Updating or changing PS4 firmware does not turn a PS4 into a supported RPCS3 computer.

Where to check RPCS3 requirements
If your goal is to run PS3 games through RPCS3, use the emulator on a computer and consult the project’s current Quickstart guide for supported systems and requirements. The project’s older FAQ includes platform information that may be outdated, so it should not be treated as the current hardware or operating-system specification.
RPCS3 also documents the DualShock 4 as a controller option for computer use in its controller configuration guide. Using that controller is optional and does not make RPCS3 compatible with a PS4.
