San Myshuno is the world with the familiar built-in apartments and penthouses from The Sims 4 City Living. With The Sims 4 For Rent, you can also create multi-unit Residential Rental lots in any liveable world, including Tomarang. Those are player-configured rentals, not native apartments that come with every world.
Which Sims 4 world has built-in apartments?
San Myshuno, introduced in City Living, has the fixed apartment lots and penthouses associated with the classic apartment experience. EA describes the pack as letting Sims move into a San Myshuno apartment and work their way from a starter unit to a penthouse. See EA’s City Living page.

For that prebuilt, world-specific apartment experience, you need City Living. It requires The Sims 4 base game.
Can you build apartments in other Sims 4 worlds?
Yes. For Rent adds the Residential Rental lot type, which lets you configure multiple rental units on a lot in any liveable world. Tomarang is the pack’s new world, but the feature is not limited to Tomarang. EA describes the scope as “ANY liveable The Sims 4 world” in its For Rent announcement.

How to make a Residential Rental in For Rent
- Choose a lot in a liveable world. The rental feature is not exclusive to Tomarang.
- Change the lot type to Residential Rental. You can do this in Build Mode. EA Help also describes purchasing a rental through the phone or the Owned Businesses panel.
- Assign rooms to units. In Build Mode, place rooms in existing or new rental units, or designate rooms as shared space for residents.

Do Gallery apartment builds count as built-in apartments?
No. A community-made apartment-style build can be placed in another world, but that does not mean the world shipped with native apartments like San Myshuno’s. For example, EA Gallery features “Realistic Apartments,” a community build for the Miner Mansion lot in Evergreen Harbor, described as four small apartments and functional as a Residential Rental with For Rent. No. San Myshuno penthouses are special lots and cannot be converted into Residential Rental lots. EA’s For Rent development FAQ says: “Penthouses are special lots that will not work with this venue type.” Their existing functionality remains unchanged.
