Assassin’s Creed Shadows had 15 reported supporting studios in addition to its lead studio, Ubisoft Quebec—16 studios in total. Insider Gaming named the supporting teams in a report published May 15, 2024, attributing the list to the game’s official Ubisoft website.
Who developed Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Ubisoft Quebec was identified as the lead studio. The 15 other Ubisoft studios reported as supporting development were:

The list and lead-studio identification come from Insider Gaming’s May 15, 2024 report. Its headline’s “15” refers to supporting studios, not the overall count including Ubisoft Quebec.
What is known about the studios’ contributions?
The report names the studios but does not say what work each one performed, how large its contribution was, or why the game involved this many teams. The number of credited studios is not evidence that they contributed equally, and it does not establish a development headcount or budget. Ubisoft Montreal’s appearance on the support list also does not make it a co-lead; Ubisoft Quebec is identified as the lead.

The page available for review did not expose a readable credits list, so the names are best described as reported by Insider Gaming and attributed by that outlet to Ubisoft’s site—not as a currently visible credits list.

In a Ubisoft technical Q&A published February 12, 2025, Pierre F., identified as Technology Director on Assassin’s Creed Shadows, described a software ray-tracing option for graphics cards without hardware ray tracing: “The game will use a proprietary software-based raytracing approach developed specifically for that.” This is technical context from Ubisoft, not an explanation of how the supporting studios divided the work.
