There is no evidence-backed universal best Amplified Weapon in ARC Raiders. Amplify the weapon you already use when its branch solves a specific problem in your loadout: the Burletta can become fully automatic, the Renegade can gain a scope, and the Rattler can be configured around incendiary ammunition and a 64-round magazine. Those are meaningful role changes, not proof that any one branch is the strongest after the latest balance changes.
Choose by target (other Raiders or ARC machines), engagement distance, ammunition needs and the opportunity cost of an irreversible upgrade. Embark describes amplification as a way to create more viable choices, rather than a simple damage multiplier for weapons that already dominate.

The short answer: amplify for a role, not a tier list
Embark Studios introduced Amplified Weapons as a fifth quality level unlocked through the fully upgraded Research Workstation in the Outpost. Instead of merely adding statistics, an amplification branch can change how a gun functions. The announced launch scope was 15 weapons, with more planned; it is not a claim that only 15 weapons will ever receive the system.

For every other weapon, open the live amplification tree and judge the actual branch against the way you play. A currently circulating upgrade guide says its list and values were still being completed, so it should not be treated as a complete ranking.

What Amplified Weapons actually change
A fifth quality level, unlocked in the Outpost
In its September 23, 2026 preview, Embark said that a fully upgraded Research Workstation in the Outpost gives Raiders access to a fifth quality level for a range of guns. The October 8 Frozen Trail patch notes list Amplified Weapons and the Outpost Research Bench among the update’s new features. Establishing and upgrading the Outpost is therefore the foundation of the system, rather than a menu that is available on a fresh account.
Branching abilities instead of a universal damage button
An amplified weapon has branching abilities or enhancements that can substantially alter its behavior. A firing-mode change, an optical sight, ammunition effect or larger magazine can change your effective range, reload rhythm, target priority and the situations in which the weapon is comfortable. That is why a branch can be valuable even when it does not produce the largest raw damage number.
Executive producer Aleksander Grøndal described the goal to GamesRadar+ as giving players “other weapons that can perform well” and “other choices to have in PvP.” He also said the intent was “more variety in how to play,” rather than “just adding pure output power to the top-end weapons.” Read those comments as design intent, not as a promise that every branch is equally effective in every encounter.

Burletta: choose it for an automatic pistol role
The Burletta’s official example is a fully automatic path. That is a fundamental handling change: instead of treating the pistol primarily as a deliberate sidearm, you can use it for sustained close-range pressure. It may fit a player who wants an emergency weapon that can keep firing while moving or who prefers a compact automatic option in a restricted loadout.

Before committing, decide what the automatic mode replaces. If the role is already covered by your primary weapon, the branch may add less value than a change that improves range, precision or ammunition economy. Consider the practical costs of holding the trigger: a larger ammunition drain, more frequent reload decisions and potentially less control at the edge of the pistol’s effective range. These are evaluation questions, not documented claims that the branch has a particular recoil or damage value.
Renegade: choose it for sighted, deliberate engagements
Embark’s Renegade example adds a scope to the lever-action battle rifle. The branch is attractive when your problem is target identification or precision at distance, not when you simply want a higher close-range damage ceiling. A scoped configuration can make the weapon more suitable for a player who takes measured shots, watches lanes or wants a different engagement style from an unsighted rifle.
Ask whether your normal fights give you time to exploit the optic. In cramped interiors or frantic pushes, the scope may contribute less than a branch that improves handling or capacity. In open approaches, the sight picture could be the reason you select the Renegade over a weapon with a more aggressive close-range pattern. The source material confirms the scope as an option; it does not establish a universal range advantage or a best-in-slot ranking.
Rattler: choose the exact problem you need to solve
The Rattler is the most explicit example of two different use cases: incendiary bullets and a 64-bullet magazine. Treat them as separate reasons to inspect the branch. Incendiary ammunition may appeal when its effect helps with a particular target or pressure pattern. The 64-round capacity may matter more to a player who loses fights during reloads, suppresses an area or expects several targets before reaching cover.

Neither listed behavior should be assumed to be a permanent meta choice. Ammunition effects interact with target type and balance, while a large magazine changes reload timing but can also influence how freely you spend rounds. Compare the branch with your intended target—other Raiders or ARC—and with the ammunition you can reliably bring into raids.
Use the target to decide: Raiders, ARC or both
PvP against other Raiders
For PvP, start with the fight you are trying to win: a fast entry, a mid-range hold, a retreat under pressure or a final duel after both teams have been damaged. A fully automatic Burletta may fit a player who needs immediate close-range volume. A scoped Renegade may fit someone who creates distance and takes deliberate shots. A high-capacity Rattler may reduce the reload windows that an opposing Raider can punish.
These are role matches, not performance claims. The reviewed material contains no controlled, current test of time-to-kill, recoil, accuracy, ammunition efficiency or win rate for every branch. Your own current balance environment can therefore change the practical order.

Against ARC machines, ammunition type and armor penetration deserve explicit attention. The weapon-class descriptions provide broad roles—such as controlled-burst rifles or close-range shotguns—but they do not prove that a class is currently superior. Check what ammunition the amplified branch uses and whether it addresses the ARC armor problem you actually encounter before spending the upgrade.

A branch that is excellent for suppressing a Raider may be awkward against an armored machine, while a configuration that handles ARC efficiently may leave you exposed in a player ambush. If ARC work is your priority, evaluate the branch with the armor interaction, engagement distance and expected ammunition consumption in mind rather than selecting it because its effect sounds dramatic.
A mixed PvP/PvE loadout
When one weapon must cover both targets, identify the weakness you cannot compensate for with your second weapon. Capacity, sighting, firing mode and ammunition behavior are all legitimate criteria. Select the branch that removes that bottleneck, then accept that no single amplification is guaranteed to dominate both target categories.
A practical decision framework before you spend the module
- Open the current in-game tree. Confirm the branch, its stated effects and the materials shown by your present build. Do not rely on an incomplete third-party list when the live interface provides a newer value.
- Name the role in one sentence. For example: “I need a sidearm for close-range pressure,” “I need a sighted option for open ground,” or “I need enough capacity to survive a multi-target fight.” If you cannot state the role, the upgrade is probably being chosen for novelty.
- Choose the target priority. Mark the branch as primarily PvP, primarily ARC or mixed. Include armor penetration and ammunition type when ARC is part of the plan.
- Compare the branch with your current loadout. Ask what the weapon replaces, whether the second weapon already covers the same range and how the change affects reloads, movement and inventory space.
- Check the opportunity cost. Amplification consumes a weapon, a matched module and research resources. Spending them on a weapon you rarely deploy delays a branch on a weapon you use every raid.
- Confirm the commitment. The secondary guide updated October 11 reports that the amplification choice cannot be reverted. Treat that as guide-reported until the live game confirms the rule, but do not click through assuming a reset will be available.
- Test the behavior, not just the tooltip. In safe opportunities, observe the sight picture, firing rhythm, magazine use and target response. Keep notes across several raids so one unusual encounter does not determine the decision.
- Recheck after balance changes. Amplification is intended to broaden viable choices, and a patch can change the value of a firing mode, ammunition effect or capacity increase without changing the branch’s description.
Progression requirements and what is still uncertain
The official material confirms the Outpost and fully upgraded Research Workstation relationship, but it does not publish a complete table of costs for every weapon and node. A secondary guide updated October 11 reports a more specific path: an established Outpost, Gunsmith and Research Station at level IV, a tier-IV weapon and an Amplification Module matching the weapon’s rarity. It also reports additional research and material costs for individual nodes.

The announced 15-weapon launch scope also means that an absent weapon may be waiting for a later expansion of the system rather than being permanently excluded.

Common mistakes when choosing an amplified weapon
Confusing a new behavior with a straight upgrade
A scope, automatic firing mode, incendiary ammunition or a 64-round magazine changes decisions during a fight. It does not automatically improve every statistic. Judge the branch by the situations it enables and the situations it makes less comfortable.
Picking a branch because it is unusual
Novelty is a poor substitute for a role. The Burletta is not automatically the answer for every pistol user, the scoped Renegade is not automatically the answer for every rifle user, and the Rattler’s listed effects are not automatically superior to a branch that addresses your range or handling needs.
Using an unfinished external list as a ranking
The available third-party guide acknowledges that some upgrade information was still being filled in. Use it, if at all, as a lead for what to inspect, then confirm the live tree. Do not infer a complete weapon order from an incomplete list.

Ignoring the irreversible choice
If the guide-reported no-revert rule is present in your version, an experimental click can consume a high-tier weapon and scarce materials. Read every node, compare the branch with your usual loadout and make a backup plan for ammunition before confirming.
How to keep your choice useful as the game changes
Record the branch you selected, the target you intended to fight and the practical issue it was meant to solve. Revisit that record after balance patches, new weapons or new amplification nodes. If a later update changes ARC armor interactions, ammunition availability or the strength of close-range fights, the best branch for your account can change even though your original choice was reasonable.
The most reliable evidence available now supports a conditional recommendation, not a leaderboard. Embark’s stated objective is more variety in PvP and PvE, and the official examples demonstrate that variety through different weapon behaviors. Treat the live in-game tree and your own role requirements as the final authority.
Bottom line
Amplify the Burletta if a fully automatic pistol fills a real close-range gap, the Renegade if a scope matches your deliberate engagement style, or the Rattler if incendiary rounds or a 64-round magazine solves a specific ammunition or pressure problem. For every other weapon, choose the branch that best fits your primary target, ARC armor and current loadout. No reviewed source establishes a universal winner, so spending the module on the gun you already use for a clearly defined role is safer than chasing an unverified tier list.
