It is a fan project, not a Nintendo release, and the available reporting does not confirm that an Ocarina of Time remake is officially coming.
What is Soccerina of Time?
Credited in recent coverage to Shon J, also known as shonj352, Soccerina of Time reimagines Ocarina of Time as a soccer game. Instead of exploring Hyrule as Link, the premise puts its characters and locations into a football-style competition. Nintendo Wire’s September 30, 2026 report describes teams including Kokiri FC, Kakariko City, and Zora United, along with multiple pitches.

The concept is a fan-made ROM hack, not an official Nintendo game. The reported team names and features describe a project in development, so they should not be taken as a promise that every feature is present in every build.
What features have been reported?
Coverage describes more than a basic match mode. Reported features include assigning characters to positions, creating a character, and league or manager modes. The sources do not independently test or document the full feature set, and details may change as development continues.

How can you get Soccerina of Time?
Nintendo Wire reported on September 30, 2026 that interested players could find access and project updates in the Soccerina of Time channel on the Hylian Modding Discord. That report said footage had shown build 0.1 and that version 0.3 had since been released. This is a dated status report, not confirmation that 0.3 remains the current build. Check the project channel for current availability and instructions.
The available coverage does not establish which region or revision of the original game ROM is required, or which emulators, hardware, and controllers are compatible. It therefore does not support a reliable installation walkthrough. Follow only the project’s current instructions, and do not assume that a particular ROM dump or setup will work.

What Kotaku reported about generative AI
Kotaku updated its October 5, 2026 story to disclose that the mod’s code was written using generative AI, specifically Claude. That is Kotaku’s reported disclosure; it has not been independently verified with the creator in the available coverage. The detail is relevant context for readers assessing how the fan project was made.

No confirmation of an upcoming remake is established by the coverage cited here. The title’s “while you wait” framing is a playful hook, not evidence of a confirmed Nintendo project or release date. Soccerina of Time can be considered on its own as an unofficial, developing fan project.
