Floyd is a secret pink ninja encounter in Mortal Kombat 1, not a new playable fighter. Reports tied his arrival to the January 2025 update that introduced Conan the Barbarian; defeating Floyd unlocks the Fields stage, according to GamesRadar.
Who is Floyd in Mortal Kombat 1?
Floyd is described as the game’s first pink ninja and a hidden opponent players can encounter. His name appears to reference the English rock band Pink Floyd. Kamidogu’s February 20, 2025 episode described him as a secret character introduced in the January update, with the hunt for Floyd competing for attention with Conan the Barbarian, the update’s featured DLC kombatant. The idea had been floated earlier: GamesRadar reported that, in 2022, series figure Ed Boon answered a fan asking about new ninjas by saying, “I honestly want to make a PINK ninja and name him FLOYD. No kidding.” GamesRadar attributes the quote to Boon’s tweet; the original social post was not independently verified here. GamesRadar’s report
Does Floyd join the playable roster?
No. GamesRadar describes Floyd as a secret fight against a ninja whose moveset draws on existing characters. Winning the encounter unlocks the Fields stage for player use; Floyd himself does not become a roster character. That makes him different from Conan, the licensed guest fighter associated with the same update.

How do you find Floyd?
The exact route is not established as definitive by the available reporting. In its January 2025 coverage, GamesRadar said dataminer thethiny was tracking possible requirements and a community spreadsheet listed 37 hidden challenges, but the report did not identify a confirmed subset that reliably triggers the fight.
GamesRadar also reported that Floyd might appear as a teaser after 100 ladder matches. Treat that as a possibility reported at the time, not a guaranteed unlock condition. The account is historical: check current in-game information or official Mortal Kombat 1 updates before relying on a particular challenge list or route.

What the January 2025 update brought
Coverage connected Floyd’s secret encounter to the January 2025 update that also brought Conan the Barbarian to Mortal Kombat 1. The distinction matters: Conan was discussed as the DLC kombatant, while Floyd was a hidden encounter whose reported reward was a stage. The available sources do not establish the game’s current version, present platform availability, or whether the reported route remains unchanged.
GamesRadar’s reporting describes the Fields as a unique setting for the encounter and says victory makes the stage available for use. Read the dated GamesRadar account for its contemporaneous details; it is not an official unlock guide.
