Milos Kerkez is a left-back for Liverpool and a Hungary international. Born in Serbia, he progressed through ETO FC Győr, AC Milan, AZ Alkmaar and Bournemouth before joining Liverpool in June 2025. His game combines energetic running and attacking delivery with the defensive work expected of a full-back.
What position does Milos Kerkez play?
Kerkez plays as a left-back. UEFA’s 2026/27 profile lists him as a Liverpool defender and Hungary international; Liverpool identifies his specific position as left-back. UEFA’s profile gives his birthplace as Serbia and his date of birth as 7 November 2003. Squad numbers and listings can change by season: UEFA lists him as No. 6 for Liverpool and No. 11 for Hungary in 2026/27.
He represents Hungary despite being born in Vrbas, Serbia. Liverpool reported that he qualified through his Hungarian grandmother and had played for Hungary at youth level before stepping up to the senior side. His senior international debut came against Germany in a UEFA Nations League match in September 2022.
What is Kerkez’s playing style?
Kerkez is an attack-minded full-back whose role still requires him to defend. Liverpool’s 2025 feature described him as a high-energy player who relishes both sides of the job. Bournemouth Daily Echo journalist Alex Smith, quoted in a Liverpool feature, highlighted his fitness, pace and final delivery, as well as his availability and improvement in attacking output. Those are attributed assessments, not a universal rating of his ability.

His running figures offer a dated example of that workload. Liverpool reported that in the 2024–25 Premier League season he covered 233.4 miles and recorded 843 total sprints, placing him among the league’s top five in each measure. Running totals alone do not establish how effective a player is; they describe physical output in that particular season.
Kerkez also described a high-pressing, front-footed approach in a Liverpool interview published on 22 August 2026. He said the team wanted to press quickly to regain the ball, then keep possession. That is his description of the intended approach, rather than a claim about how every match played out.

The club figures above are tied to the sources’ stated periods and scopes; they should not be added together as a definitive all-competition career total.
What did Kerkez do at Bournemouth?
The clearest season-level snapshot in the available club reporting is 2024–25. Liverpool reported that Kerkez started all 38 of Bournemouth’s Premier League matches, scored twice and made five league assists. The club said the five assists were joint-most by a Bournemouth defender in a single campaign. These figures refer to that Premier League season, not his career totals.

How has Kerkez described adapting to Liverpool?
In an interview reported by Liverpool on 29 April 2026, Kerkez described his first months at the club as a period of learning and adjustment: “I think in general, for me it has been a growing season, learning a lot of new things and adapting.” He pointed to a new playing style, a heavy match load and physical adjustment. Liverpool’s article said that, with four league games remaining at the time, he had made 44 appearances, including 36 starts. That was an in-season count, not a final campaign total.
In his June 2025 Liverpool interview, he also embraced the “crazy left-back” description, saying he still wanted to give “110 per cent” to help the team win. It fits his self-described intensity, but does not replace the more practical picture: he is a full-back expected to contribute in attack and defend his flank.

What is not established by these figures?
The dated club reports provide useful snapshots, but they do not establish a current cumulative total across all competitions, a complete set of defensive metrics, or a balanced statistical comparison with other left-backs. For current squad details, the relevant season matters; UEFA’s profile is for 2026/27, while the performance statistics cited here are from 2024–25.
