Who are Sephiroth’s biological parents?
Hojo and Lucrecia Crescent are Sephiroth’s biological parents. The English translation of Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Omega describes him as “the biological son of Hojo and Lucrecia.” The translation is hosted by GameFAQs, rather than published directly on a Square Enix webpage: Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Omega translation.
Why is Jenova connected to Sephiroth?
Lucrecia was involved in the Jenova Project, and the experiment involving Sephiroth took place while she was pregnant. In its Lucrecia entry, the translated reference says she offered her unborn child for experimentation and identifies the child given Jenova cells as Sephiroth. It also describes him as a product of the Jenova Project.
That explains why Jenova is so closely linked to Sephiroth and why he may be described as Jenova’s “son.” In this context, the connection is experimental and thematic: Jenova cells affected his development, but Jenova is not identified as his biological mother or father.

Is Vincent Valentine Sephiroth’s father?
No. Vincent loved Lucrecia, but that emotional relationship does not establish paternity. The parentage account in Final Fantasy VII Ultimania Omega names Hojo as Sephiroth’s biological father.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Portal character list includes Sephiroth among the Final Fantasy VII characters. Its Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Hojo page describes Hojo as Shinra’s head of research and development and a scientist who treats human life as a means to scientific ends. Those official pages provide character context; they do not directly state Sephiroth’s parentage.
