Wendy O. Koopa is one of the Koopalings, the group of seven characters Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. 3 history identifies as Bowser’s children. In that game’s manual, Wendy says she is studying Mario’s moves; she is also playable as a Light-class character in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Who is Wendy O. Koopa?
Wendy is one of the seven Koopalings in the Super Mario series. Nintendo’s official history of Super Mario Bros. 3 describes the Koopalings as Bowser’s children. Nintendo’s English-language game manual gives Wendy her full name, Wendy O. Koopa. Nintendo lists the game’s original release year as 1988.
What does Wendy do in Super Mario Bros. 3?
In Nintendo’s account of the story, the Koopalings cause trouble across the worlds and steal magic wands from the kings. Mario and Luigi set out to recover the wands and restore the affected kings. Wendy appears among the characters on Nintendo’s history page.

Can you play as Wendy?
Yes. Nintendo includes Wendy in the official Mario Kart 8 Deluxe character roster and classifies her as Light. Nintendo also lists a physical Nintendo Switch edition of the game.
