Grow a Garden was reported as the winner of the August 23, 2025 Admin Abuse War, based on the announced rule: whichever game reached the higher concurrent-player count (CCU) during admin abuse. The result comes with a caveat: server problems delayed the events, they ran at different times, and published peak figures do not agree precisely.
How the Admin Abuse War was decided
The matchup put Grow a Garden developer Jandel against Steal a Brainrot developer Sammy, also known as SpyderSammy. According to Beebom’s event explainer, the announced measure was each game’s highest concurrent-player count during admin abuse. That makes the reported outcome a CCU result, not the result of a public vote about which game or developer deserved to win.
Beebom also reported that Jandel pledged $5,000 to Team Water for every million players by which Grow a Garden exceeded Steal a Brainrot, and that Sammy said he would match the wager and donate to Team Water regardless of the result. Those were reported pledges; the available coverage does not verify donation receipts.
Why the result is not a perfectly clean head-to-head
Server crashes delayed the events, and they took place at different times, according to Droid Gamers’ August 25 report. Players therefore had a chance to attend both games’ events and collect both sets of rewards, but the separated timing makes the contest less directly comparable than a simultaneous matchup.

What the reported player counts show
Coverage agrees on the winner more clearly than it agrees on exact peak counts. The Based Otaku’s recap reported Grow a Garden above 23.3 million concurrent players and Steal a Brainrot above 20.1 million. PC Gamer’s August 28 recap instead described both games as reaching around 20 million players at peak during the event. The figures should be treated as outlet-reported estimates, not a single settled tally; the available coverage does not establish a definitive Roblox-issued event count.
PC Gamer separately reported that Roblox as a whole exceeded 45 million concurrent users on August 23, attributing that platform-wide figure to CEO David Baszucki. It is not the peak for either game.

Did a poll decide who won?
No. The announced contest rule was CCU, while polls reflected community opinion. Droid Gamers reported that the polls it found—one from Jandel’s X account and one in the Grow a Garden Discord—favored Jandel or Grow a Garden. Those communities were more likely to include Grow a Garden players, and the outlet said it could not find a poll from the other side. They are limited community signals, not a representative public vote or the official contest result.
Beebom’s August 23 article asked readers who deserved to win and invited comments, but it was still framed as a pre-event poll. It does not establish a final poll tally.
