Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is no longer playable: Activision took its servers offline on April 17, 2026. This was not another delay. Activision says the game did not meet its expectations with mobile-first players, though its public notice does not specify which business or technical factors led to the decision.
Why did Warzone Mobile shut down?
Activision’s stated reason is that the game “did not meet our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences.” The company has not publicly broken that explanation down into specific causes such as player retention, revenue, development costs, or technical performance, so none of those should be treated as the definitive reason.
Some secondary coverage has discussed technical difficulties and player performance complaints. Those reports provide context, but the available evidence does not establish those complaints as Activision’s rationale for taking the game offline. Activision’s service-change notice is the source for its stated reason.
How the shutdown unfolded
- March 21, 2024: Activision announced Warzone Mobile’s worldwide release for iOS and Android. Its launch announcement highlighted large-scale Battle Royale maps, Multiplayer, and progression shared with Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone. - May 2025: Activision removed the game from Google Play and Apple’s App Store. Real-money purchases ended on May 19, 2025. Activision’s service-change details cover the store and purchase changes.
- April 17, 2026: Servers went offline. Players who already had the game installed could access existing content only until that shutdown; the game can no longer be played.
What happened to accounts, COD Points, and purchases?
Guest accounts are no longer accessible after the shutdown. Activision accounts remain available outside Warzone Mobile through Activision’s websites and other titles that require an account. Activision explains account access here.

Unused Warzone Mobile COD Points became inaccessible when the servers shut down. Activision says it does not offer refunds for unused COD Points or previously purchased in-game content. These balances and purchases should not be assumed to transfer to another Call of Duty game.
