Roblox has not removed the item players call “bacon hair.” Its official name is Pal Hair, and the Roblox marketplace listed it as a free catalog item when checked on October 8, 2026. What players may actually have noticed is a change in the default look some new accounts receive. Roblox has not publicly explained that change in any source checked for this article.
What “bacon” refers to
In this context, “bacon” is not food. It is the community nickname for the avatar hairstyle that Roblox’s catalog calls Pal Hair. A Beebom guide updated June 8, 2026 makes that identification, and it is the only nickname mapping the sources checked for this article establish. Search for Pal Hair rather than “bacon hair” when looking for the item on Roblox.
Catalog availability and default avatars are different questions
Most confusion about “removal” comes from treating two separate things as one. An item can remain in the catalog while the hairstyle a new account is given at creation changes, and the evidence supports only the first half of that picture.
| Question | What the sources establish | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Is Pal Hair still sold or listed on the Roblox marketplace? | Yes. The official catalog page listed “Pal Hair Free” when accessed on October 8, 2026. | Verified for that date. Catalog pages change, so check the item page yourself. |
| Is Pal Hair the same thing players call bacon hair? | Yes, according to the Beebom guide updated June 8, 2026. | Community nickname; not an official Roblox term. |
| Does a new account now start with a different default hairstyle? | Some players report this. No Roblox source checked confirms the default assignment or its timing. | Unverified. |
| Why would Roblox change defaults? | No primary Roblox announcement or statement was found. | Not established. |
What each source says
Roblox’s marketplace listing
The official catalog is the strongest evidence available for the narrow question of whether the item remains listed. It shows that Pal Hair exists as a free item. It does not describe which hairstyle Roblox hands to a newly created account, so it cannot settle the default-avatar question in either direction.

Beebom’s guide (updated June 8, 2026)
Beebom identifies Pal Hair as the style players refer to as bacon hair. The same guide also describes a history and default-avatar context. Those historical claims were not confirmed by an official Roblox source in the material checked, so they should be read as Beebom’s account rather than Roblox policy.
CyberPost (February 16, 2026)
CyberPost says Roblox did not technically remove bacon hair and frames the issue as a move away from a single default appearance. It attributes the shift to a goal of more diverse customization. That explanation is CyberPost’s interpretation. No Roblox announcement backing it was found, so it should not be presented as Roblox’s stated reason.

What remains unestablished
- The date of any default change. No dated, official source describes when new accounts stopped receiving Pal Hair by default, if they did.
- Roblox’s motive. The “more diverse customization” explanation comes from a secondary outlet, not from Roblox.
- Collectible merchandise. A secondary guide mentions bacon-themed Roblox plush toys. That guide does not verify a specific licensed product, a manufacturer, or current stock, so treat plush listings as unconfirmed until the seller and licensing can be checked.
How to check the item yourself
- Open the Roblox marketplace in a browser and search for Pal Hair.
- Open the item page and confirm the price shows as free.
- If you want the hairstyle on your avatar, equip it from the item page or from your avatar editor.
- If a new account you created looks different from what you expected, record the date and the account’s starting appearance. That record is more useful than a general complaint if you later report the change to Roblox support.
Those steps confirm availability only. They will not show whether Roblox has changed default assignments, because that is not visible from the listing.
