Sebastian Sallow kills his uncle Solomon after Solomon destroys a relic Sebastian believes might help his sister, Anne. The immediate trigger is the destruction of what Sebastian sees as a possible way to help her; the relic is not established as a proven cure.
What leads Sebastian to kill Solomon?
In Sebastian’s story arc in Hogwarts Legacy, his efforts to help Anne are the reason he pursues the relic. A secondary game guide describes Solomon as seeing it as dangerous and destroying it. Sebastian kills him in the confrontation that follows.

The guide frames the killing as the culmination of Sebastian’s desperation and his increasingly dangerous use of forbidden magic. That makes the act more than a sudden reaction to losing the relic: it follows an escalating attempt to find help for Anne by means Solomon rejects.
What did Solomon destroy?
The secondary account identifies the object as a relic that Sebastian believed might help Anne. That belief explains why its destruction provokes him, but it does not establish that the relic could actually have cured her.

Does that explain or justify the killing?
It explains Sebastian’s immediate motive without making the killing justified. One interpretation emphasizes his desperation to help his sister; another emphasizes how his pursuit of that goal escalates into forbidden magic and violence. Those are ways of weighing the story, not evidence that Solomon intended to harm Sebastian or Anne.

The official Hogwarts Legacy FAQ says the game “does not have a morality system,” while quests and storylines influence the kind of witch or wizard a player chooses to become. That broad description offers context for interpreting Sebastian’s arc, but it does not settle every moral judgment about his actions.
