Why Does My 24/7 Indian Music YouTube Stream Have No Sound?

Most silent 24/7 YouTube music streams have a break somewhere between the music source, encoder, and YouTube—not a fault unique to Indian music. Find the break by checking whether the music plays, whether the encoder captures it, whether a local recording contains it, and whether YouTube reports receiving audio. The exact fix depends on the streaming setup; start with the checks below rather than replacing hardware without evidence.

First, locate where the sound disappears

Check the stream as a viewer and note whether the video is still live and normal. Ask whether the silence affects one viewer, several viewers on the same network, or viewers on different networks. Then trace the signal through four checkpoints:

  1. Source: Is the file, playlist, app, or external device actually playing audio?
  2. Encoder: Does the encoder show audio activity for the correct source, and can you hear it through monitoring?
  3. Local recording: Does a recording made by the encoder contain the music?
  4. YouTube playback: Can viewers hear it, and does YouTube show an audio-related stream-health warning?

A moving meter confirms signal at that point in the chain, not that YouTube is receiving it. Comparing all four checkpoints narrows down whether the problem is the source, capture, stream configuration, delivery, or a viewer’s playback setup.

Check the music source and timing

Confirm that the music is playing at its source. For a repeating playlist, note whether the silence begins at the same track transition, playlist change, or restart. That timing is a useful clue, but it does not establish the cause on its own.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

If you use a playback app or external device, check its own output and volume as well as the computer’s operating-system volume mixer. Make sure the selected output is the one the encoder is meant to capture. Do not assume a microphone is involved: a stream carrying prerecorded music may use a media file, desktop audio, application audio, or a separate device.

If you use OBS, check its audio path

OBS captures desktop audio and a microphone by default, according to its Quick Start Guide. If the meters do not move—or the wrong device may be selected—check Settings → Audio and choose the intended devices. OBS recommends a short test before streaming.

Inspect the specific source and mixer

Find the source that should carry the music: it may be desktop audio, an application or audio device capture, a media source, or a VLC playlist (VLC must be installed for VLC playlists). OBS explains these source types in its Sources Guide and Audio Sources guide. An audio input/output capture source captures its selected device only while that source is active.

  1. Play the music and watch the meter for the specific source in the OBS Audio Mixer.
  2. Confirm that the source is active, the expected input or output device is selected, and the source is not muted or turned down to zero.
  3. Check the application volume and operating-system mixer, then check the OBS source fader and mute state.
  4. Use OBS audio monitoring, where appropriate, to hear the signal at the encoder stage.
  5. Make a local recording and listen to it before relying on the live stream.

OBS warns that selecting the same device both as a scene source and globally in Settings → Audio can cause echo. Avoid adding duplicate captures as a guess; confirm which source is meant to feed the stream.

Check stereo channels

OBS assigns stereo channels separately. If only one meter moves, the source may be audible only in the corresponding left or right channel. Check the source’s channel output and listen to a local recording to see whether the music is missing from one side.

Read YouTube’s stream-health message

Open the stream-health diagnostics in YouTube’s Live Control Room and use the actual warning to guide changes. YouTube’s Live Streaming API health-status documentation lists noAudioStream when ingestion has no audio stream but exactly one is required. It also identifies audio codec, bitrate, sample-rate, channel-count, and multiple-audio-stream issues. For its audio-codec issue, the documentation lists AAC and MP3 as supported codecs.

Separate an encoder problem from a delivery or viewer problem

If the encoder sounds right and a local recording is healthy but live playback is silent, investigate outbound connectivity and encoder or Live Control Room errors. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guidance recommends checking the stream’s look and sound in the encoder, reviewing encoder errors and CPU load, and inspecting a local archive. If the encoder output looks and sounds healthy, YouTube says the outbound internet connection may be the problem.

  • Only one viewer is affected: Have them check their playback device, browser or app, and connection.
  • Several viewers on the same network are affected: Check that network and its playback conditions.
  • Viewers on different networks are affected: Check the encoder’s output and outbound connection, then review YouTube’s health messages.

These patterns help choose where to investigate; they do not prove a cause without checking the stream and setup.

Check copyright notices if the stream changed or stopped

Copyright enforcement is a separate continuity issue, not evidence that ordinary audio routing is broken. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party matches; identified content can lead to a placeholder image, interruption, or termination. Its policy does not establish that enforcement simply mutes a stream that otherwise continues normally.

If the stream stopped, changed to a placeholder, or shows a warning, review YouTube Studio for copyright or Community Guidelines notices. A license may not prevent an interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. For licensed third-party music, confirm allowlisting with the rights holder. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Retest after a change

  1. Make one relevant change at a time, based on the failing checkpoint or YouTube’s warning.
  2. Record a normal session and listen to the result, including both stereo channels.
  3. Check the live stream through viewer playback, not just the encoder’s preview or meters.
  4. Note which change restores sound so you can identify the failure point if it returns.

Or let it run in the cloud

If the problem is keeping a prerecorded music stream running, StreamNeo runs a YouTube stream from uploaded videos in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Your upload streams as made, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
