An “invalid code” message on a Roblox gift card usually points to one of three things: the PIN was misread or mistyped, the card is being entered somewhere Roblox does not accept it, or the code has already been redeemed on an account you may not be looking at. Work through the checks below in order, from quickest to slowest. Only a card that still fails after all of them needs Roblox Support.
Start on the supported redemption page
Roblox directs retail gift-card codes to a web browser at roblox.com/redeem. Open that page, sign in to the Roblox account that should receive the value, enter the PIN, and submit it.
The standard Roblox mobile app and the game consoles do not offer gift-card redemption. Samsung Galaxy users have a dedicated in-app redemption option, so a Galaxy phone is the one mobile exception. If you have been entering the code on a console or in the standard app, switch to a browser and enter the PIN again.
Check for lookalike characters
Roblox’s gift-card support guide states that “letters and numbers often look similar.” When a PIN is rejected, compare each character on the card or e-gift against the substitutions Roblox lists for common confusions:
#1 Best Overall
- Redemption: Online only. Robux cards can only be redeemed in a browser at Roblox.com/redeem. They cannot be redeemed in the Roblox mobile app or any video game console.
- Roblox is an immersive platform for connection and communication. Every day, millions of people come to Roblox to create, play, work, learn, and connect with each other in experiences built by our global community of creators.
- Get more with every Roblox Gift Card! From now on, when you redeem a Roblox gift card, you get up to 25% more Robux. Perfect for gaming, creating, and exploring- more Robux means more possibilities!
- Deck out your avatar and unlock additional perks in your favorite experiences when you use Roblox Gift Cards to purchase Robux (Roblox's virtual currency).
- Each gift card grants a free virtual item upon redemption.
| Character on the card | Also try reading it as |
|---|---|
| 0 (zero) | O (letter O) |
| 1 (one) | I (capital letter I) |
| 2 | Z |
| 5 | S |
| 6 | G or Q |
| 8 | B |
Retype the PIN after reading it from the physical card in good light, rather than copying it from a blurry photo. Keep the browser’s text entry free of extra spaces or dashes you did not see on the card.
What an “already redeemed” message means
Roblox adds redemption to whichever account is signed in when you submit the code. If the error says the code was already redeemed, the value may have been added to a different account. Roblox’s retail-code guide puts it directly: “The Robux may have been added to a different account.”

Sign in to each Roblox account you use, including older or secondary accounts, and check its balance before escalating. A card that was redeemed successfully on another account is a different situation from a card that failed outright, and it does not need a support case until you have confirmed the value is not on any of your accounts.
Confirm where the card came from
Roblox’s U.S. terms for gift cards and credits state that gift cards obtained from unauthorized sellers, resellers, or distributors, including internet auction sites, are not valid and will not be honored. Roblox names authorized retailers, its distributors, and its own gift-card page as the places to buy.

Contact Roblox Support if the code still fails
If the card was still sealed and untampered with when you bought it, but Roblox reports it as already redeemed, Roblox’s guidance is to contact Support with the receipt and the code. Have the following ready before you submit a request through Roblox’s Contact Us page:

- The purchase date and amount, and the place and city of purchase
- Your country of residence
- The PIN and the card’s serial number
- A receipt image
- Images of the card, or the complete e-gift image
- Screenshots of any error messages
Support images must be JPG or PNG files. Submit the PIN only through Roblox’s official support form. Do not post the full code in public forums or send it to anyone offering to “fix” it for you, because a PIN that is shared can be used by someone else.
Situations that look like an invalid code but are not
- Worldwide redemption. Roblox says gift-card codes can be redeemed worldwide, and the value converts automatically to the account’s local currency. A purchase made in another country is not, by itself, a reason the support guidance gives for an invalid code.
- Robux-only cards. Roblox states that Amazon Gift Cards and Party Packs Gift Cards redeem for Robux only and cannot be redeemed for Roblox Credit. If a card redeems but the balance is not what you expected, check which currency the card provides before assuming a fault.
- Refunds. Roblox says it does not refund gift cards. Its retail-code page states there are no returns or refunds for those products and recommends keeping the receipt. Whether a retailer will refund you depends on that retailer’s own policy, which the Roblox pages do not govern.
Buying a replacement card
A replacement card is only worth considering if you have confirmed that the original card was compromised or came from an unauthorized seller. Before buying one, check that the seller is an authorized retailer or Roblox’s own gift-card page, and confirm whether the card is labeled for Roblox Credit or directly for Robux. A new card does not fix a mistyped PIN, a redemption that went to the wrong account, or a case that is waiting on Roblox Support.
