Epic Auto Towers crashes on PC do not trace back to one published cause. As of October 2026, no developer notice or verified list of game-specific fixes for this title has been published that we could find. What you can do is identify the type of failure, compare your PC with the game’s listed requirements, and work through a sequence of low-risk checks, ending with the developer if the problem persists. The eight steps below are checks to try, not guaranteed fixes.
What the store listing tells you about the game
Epic Auto Towers is a single-player turn-based strategy game listed on Steam. The store page shows a Version 0.99.9 update dated September 7, 2026. The game support page lists a release date of November 14, 2024. Those are listing facts, not crash statistics, and no crash-rate figure for this game has been published.
The publisher’s listed minimum requirements, as shown on the Steam store page, are:
- Operating system: Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11
- Processor: 2 GHz or faster (the store text reads “2 GHc +”, which appears to be a typo)
- Memory: 512 MB RAM
- Graphics: 512 MB
- DirectX: 9.0c
- Storage: 100 MB available
These are minimums, not a promise that every configuration will run without problems. A PC that meets them can still crash, so use the list as a baseline for comparison rather than as proof that your hardware is fine.

The fastest way to narrow the cause is to match your symptom to a row in the table below. Each check is described in full further down.

The eight checks, in order
Check 1: Record the failure type and timing
Write down whether the failure happens on launch, at the menu, or during a run, and whether it repeats on every attempt or only sometimes. Note any error text exactly as it appears, and take a screenshot if a message is shown. This takes two minutes and tells you which rows of the table apply, which makes every later check more useful.

Check 2: Compare your PC with the listed requirements
Check your Windows version under Settings > System > About. Confirm free storage under Settings > System > Storage. To see your DirectX version and graphics details, press Windows key + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter. Then compare the processor, memory, graphics, DirectX version, and storage against the list above. A mismatch is a clear lead. A match does not rule anything out.
Check 3: Restart Steam and the PC, then retry once
Fully exit Steam, including from the system tray, then restart the computer. Launch Steam, start Epic Auto Towers, and try once more. Record the result. This is a basic diagnostic step rather than a documented fix for this game, but it separates a one-time glitch from a failure that repeats.

Check 4: Verify the installed game files
In your Steam Library, right-click Epic Auto Towers and choose Properties, then open Installed Files and select Verify integrity of game files. Steam replaces files that do not match its records. We did not find a source that prescribes this step specifically for this title, so treat it as a general Steam check. If the verification reports problems it could not fix, note the message for the developer.
Check 5: Capture launch errors and follow Steam’s launch guidance
If the game fails immediately at launch, copy any error text exactly and follow Steam’s general launch troubleshooting. Steam’s guidance recommends comparing your PC with the game’s requirements and contacting the developer when general steps do not resolve the problem. Keep the exact text, because it is the most useful detail you can later send to support.

Check 6: Test with overlays and background apps closed
Close overlays and background programs, such as recording software, chat overlays, and other launchers, then play one session. In Steam, you can turn off the Steam Overlay under Settings > In-Game by clearing “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.” If the failure stops, turn each overlay back on one at a time to find the one responsible. If nothing changes, restore your settings. This is a generic comparison test, not a fix confirmed by the developer.
Check 7: Treat full-system restarts as a PC problem
If Windows itself restarts, or you see a blue or gray stop screen, the problem is not limited to Epic Auto Towers. Steam Support states: “These errors indicate a problem with your computer, not Steam, the game, or the application.” That statement refers to system restart and blue or gray screen errors described on that support page, so keep that context if you quote it. For this case, check Windows Update, the drivers and firmware provided by your graphics card and motherboard manufacturers, and the System log in Event Viewer (Windows Logs > System) for critical errors logged around the time of the crash. If the problem continues, PC hardware support is the right next step.

Check 8: Contact the developer with reproducible details
If the crash persists after the checks above, contact the developer. The game support page names developer Aleksandr Golovkin and lists [email protected]. Include the exact error text, when the crash happens (launch, menu, or during a run), your Windows version, your processor, memory, graphics card and driver version, the steps you have tried, and the result of the Steam file verification. Reproducible steps help support staff far more than a general description.
