Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition lost iOS support after Square Enix said it could not fix a bug affecting purchased content while also implementing changes to the game’s in-app purchase model. The publisher announced the decision on February 13, 2025; it did not identify a more specific technical cause.
Why was Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles removed from iOS?
Square Enix said it had received reports since January 24, 2025, from iOS players who could not access additional content they had bought. That included the paid upgrade that unlocks all dungeons. The company attributed the problem to changes in the game’s in-app purchase model, but its notice does not say which technical component failed or identify a specific Apple policy or API as the cause.
In its February 13 announcement, Square Enix said: “Further investigation revealed that we are unable to completely fix the bug and implement the new changes, making it unlikely to resume service for the game.” It therefore ended support for the iOS version. Square Enix’s announcement is the source for its explanation.
What happened to the other versions?
The support change applied to iOS, not every version of the game. Square Enix said support would continue on other platforms; contemporaneous reporting identified Android, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. That does not establish current storefront availability, prices, or whether a particular edition is in stock. PocketGamer.biz’s report names those platforms.

Can affected iOS players still request a refund?
Square Enix said customers who made in-app purchases in January 2024 or later could request refunds through Apple Support. Its notice listed 15 additional-content items eligible under the stated process. The publisher also asked players with questions or problems about refunds to contact its support center by August 31, 2025; that date has passed, so the notice does not provide a current open deadline.
For the original instructions and list of eligible content, consult Square Enix’s notice. It directs refund requests to Apple Support and questions about the process to Square Enix’s support center.

What should players do if they want to play now?
Look for a supported version on a platform you already own, then confirm that the game is currently available in your region and that the specific edition meets your needs. The available reporting identifies Android, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch as platforms where support continued, but it does not verify present-day sales or compare editions.
