Fortnite players raised concerns about using Snoop Dogg’s Snoop’s Walk emote in real life because they said its movements resemble the Crip Walk, a dance associated with the Crips. Their warning is about the possibility of the dance being misread or drawing unwanted attention in some settings—not proof that copying it will lead to harm.
What is Snoop’s Walk?
Epic’s Fortnite listing calls it Snoop’s Walk, an Icon Series traversal dance emote in the Snoop Dogg set, introduced in Chapter 5, Season Remix. Epic describes it as a dance emote that can sync to the tempo of nearby Jam Tracks, so another player can join in.
The official listing does not identify the dance as a Crip Walk. That comparison came from players discussing the emote and was reported by The Standard on November 6, 2024.
Why did players say not to do it in real life?
The concern was that someone—particularly a younger player—might imitate the movement without knowing its association and use it in a context where others interpret it as gang-related. The Standard reported differing views: some people warned that doing it “in the wrong area” could cause trouble, while others argued the risk was overstated and that the dance’s cultural reach had changed.

That coverage documents a public concern, not a demonstrated or inevitable consequence. It does not establish that everyone reads the movement as gang signaling, or that anyone who copies it will face a particular reaction. The practical point is to be aware that a gesture can carry meanings outside a game, and that people may interpret it differently depending on context.
Does Fortnite label it a Crip Walk or filter it as a confrontational emote?
No, not in the cited official material. Epic’s item page presents Snoop’s Walk as a Fortnite cosmetic and does not call it a Crip Walk. Separately, Epic’s “See Confrontational Emotes” support page lists Laugh It Up, Take the L, Whipcrack, and Make it Plantain. It does not list Snoop’s Walk, so that page does not establish that the setting filters this emote.
