If a Fortnite skin is missing, first check that you’re signed in to the Epic account that owns it, then search the Locker with filters cleared and check Archived items. A skin may be hidden rather than gone. If it’s missing only on another device, check the platform account link; if you bought it recently, allow time for it to appear. Epic says items cannot be manually transferred between Epic accounts.
The most useful clue is whether the item is missing everywhere, missing on one device, newly purchased, or visible with the wrong style. Those situations point to different checks. Work through the steps below in order, and don’t assume that a skin was deleted just because it is not in the first Locker view you open.

Start with the symptom
Use the pattern below to choose where to begin. A skin that appears in the Locker but looks different from the style you selected is a preset issue, not a missing-item issue.
| What you see | Where to start |
|---|---|
| The skin is missing on every device | Verify the Epic account, then check Locker filters and Archived items. |
| The skin is missing on just one device | Check whether that device’s platform account is linked to the Epic account holding the item. |
| You just bought the skin | Verify the account and device date and time, then allow up to two hours for the purchase to appear. |
| The skin is present, but a preset uses the wrong style | Remove the cosmetic from the preset, select the intended style, and add it back. |
These checks can identify common visibility and account issues, but they do not prove that an item was deleted. Follow them in order before contacting support.

Think of the symptoms as a sorting tool, not a diagnosis by themselves. A skin missing across devices makes the account and Locker checks especially relevant. A skin missing only on a second device makes the account link worth checking before changing anything in the Locker. A just-completed purchase has a specific display window. And if the skin is present but the selected look does not stick in a preset, repeating account checks is unlikely to address the style problem.
1. Confirm you’re using the right Epic account
Items stay with the Epic account where they were bought, earned, or claimed. If you have more than one account, being signed in to a different one can make a skin appear to be missing. This is the first thing to check because the same game can look different when you enter it through a different Epic account: a purchase or claim associated with one account will not necessarily appear in another account’s Locker.
- Check which Epic account is currently signed in to Fortnite.
- Look for the purchase receipt email and compare the account associated with the receipt to the account you’re using now.
- If you claimed or earned the item rather than buying it, check the account you used when you did so.
A receipt is a useful way to identify the account associated with a purchase. Compare it with the active sign-in rather than relying on which console, PC, or other device you usually play on. The device alone does not establish that you are using the account where the item belongs. If the skin was earned or claimed, the relevant question is which account was active at that time.
If Fortnite displayed a message saying the item or V-Bucks were removed, follow Epic’s guidance for removed items rather than treating the notice as a normal Locker visibility problem. That notice is a different clue from an item that simply cannot be found in a filtered or archived view. Don’t conclude that an item has been removed if you have not seen such a message; continue through the account and Locker checks first.
2. Search the Locker with filters cleared
A filter can hide an item from the category you’re viewing. Search the correct cosmetic type—such as Outfit, Back Bling, or Pickaxe—and clear the active filters before concluding that the item is absent. A view limited to one type of cosmetic or one set of filter choices can make a particular item hard to find even though it remains available in the Locker.
- Open the Locker and select the category for the missing cosmetic.
- Open Sort and Filter.
- Clear active filters and apply the change, then search the category again.
- If the item still does not appear, filter for Archived and check the results.
Make sure you are looking in the category that matches the item. For example, a pickaxe will not be found by looking only through outfits. Clear the active filters and apply the change before searching again; merely opening the filter controls does not establish that the view has been reset. If you are unsure whether a filter is affecting the list, turn all filters off and search again.
Do not stop after checking only the visible, unfiltered-looking part of the Locker. An item can be present in the account but hidden by the current selection of filters, or it can be in the Archived view instead of the main list. The purpose of checking both is to distinguish “not visible in this view” from “not accounted for after the basic Locker checks.”

If the skin remains missing after filters are cleared and the Archived view has been checked, continue to the account-link or purchase steps if they apply. Otherwise, contact Epic Games Support. If the item is missing on every device and the account is confirmed, the Locker checks help establish that you have already looked in the ordinary and archived views rather than overlooking a hidden item.
3. Unarchive a skin you find
Archiving hides a cosmetic from the Locker and Emote Wheel; it does not delete it. Epic says archived items remain on the account and can be unarchived. Finding the skin in Archived therefore changes the next step: you do not need to treat it as a lost purchase or try to move it between accounts. Return it to the main Locker with the Unarchive Item action.
- In the relevant Locker category, filter for Archived.
- Select the item’s menu. On PC, use the three-dot menu; on console, Epic lists holding the left stick.
- Choose Unarchive Item to return the cosmetic to the main Locker.
Controls differ by platform, so the selection method may not look the same on PC and console. The action to look for is Unarchive Item. Archiving is a visibility feature, not deletion: Epic describes it as a way to hide cosmetics from the Locker and Emote Wheel without deleting them. After unarchiving, look for the cosmetic in the main Locker again.
If you do not find the item in Archived, return to the remaining checks rather than assuming that it must have been archived. The account, active filters, cross-device link, and purchase timing are separate possible explanations. Each check answers a different question.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors4. Check account links if the item is missing on another device
Fortnite progress across devices depends on linking each platform account to the active Epic account that holds the progress. A device signed in through a different platform account may therefore show different progress or items. If the cosmetic appears on one device but not another, compare the accounts used on those devices before treating the skin as missing from the account altogether.
- Check that the platform account used on the device is linked to the Epic account you intend to use.
- Epic allows only one account of each platform type to be linked to an Epic account at a time; the same platform account cannot be linked to multiple Epic accounts.
- If two accounts have different progress, decide which account’s progress you intend to keep before changing links. Epic says differing platform progress cannot simply be combined.
Check the account links before unlinking or relinking accounts. Linking cannot be used to move a cosmetic between Epic accounts.
The key is to identify which account currently holds the progress you intend to use. Do not treat two sets of progress as if they can automatically be merged by connecting accounts: Epic says differing platform progress cannot simply be combined. If you find that devices are associated with different accounts, first determine which account is the one you want to keep using. That decision matters before changing links.

There are also limits on links: only one account of each platform type can be linked to a single Epic account at a time, and the same platform account cannot be linked to multiple Epic accounts. Those rules make account checking more important than trying multiple links at random. A link is about access to the relevant account’s progress; it does not transfer an item bought, earned, or claimed on a different Epic account.
5. Give a recent purchase time to appear
For purchases made on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or Samsung devices, Epic says it can take up to two hours for a purchase to show on the account. Before escalating, confirm the Epic account used for the purchase and check that the console’s date and time match its time zone.
- Verify that Fortnite is signed in to the Epic account associated with the purchase.
- On a console, check the date, time, and time zone settings.
- Allow up to two hours for the purchase to appear.
- If it is still unavailable, Epic suggests reinstalling Fortnite from the account used to buy it.
- If the purchase remains unavailable after that, contact the relevant console or platform support team.
Reinstalling is one step Epic suggests for this purchase issue; it is not a universal fix for every missing Locker item.
The two-hour window applies to the purchase display issue Epic describes for those listed platforms. It is a practical wait period, not a promise that every missing skin will appear after exactly two hours. While waiting, avoid confusing a delayed display with an account mismatch: confirm the account associated with the purchase first. On consoles, a date, time, or time-zone mismatch is another detail Epic specifically advises checking.
If the purchase is still unavailable after the waiting period and the account and time settings have been checked, Epic suggests reinstalling Fortnite from the account used to buy the item. Follow that step in the context of this recent-purchase problem; reinstalling should not be presented as a general remedy for an item that is archived, filtered out, or attached to another Epic account. If the item remains unavailable after the suggested reinstall, the next contact is the relevant console or platform support team.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →6. Know what can—and cannot—be done about the wrong account
Epic says it is not possible to manually transfer a Fortnite item or cosmetic from one Epic account to another. An item remains on the account where it was bought, earned, or claimed, so support should not be assumed to be able to move it.
This also means that linking a console or other platform account is not a workaround for moving a skin between Epic accounts. Linking can help make the progress on the appropriate active Epic account available across devices, but it does not change which Epic account owns an item. If you discover that you are signed in to the wrong account, identify the account that actually has the item rather than expecting an account transfer.

There may be a limited alternative for a recently bought item: Epic notes that it may be eligible for cancellation or return and repurchase on the correct account if it is still in the Item Shop and you have a Cancel Purchase or Return Ticket available. This depends on the item and your available options; it is not a guaranteed transfer, cancellation, or refund.
Both conditions matter: the item must still be in the Item Shop, and you must have the relevant Cancel Purchase or Return Ticket option available. Treat this as a conditional possibility for a recent purchase, not a standard way to move older purchases, earned cosmetics, or claimed items. If either condition is not met, the guidance does not promise a different transfer route.
7. Fix a preset that keeps the wrong style
If the cosmetic is visible in the Locker but a preset will not keep the style you want, Epic recommends resetting that cosmetic in the preset:
- Remove the cosmetic from the affected preset.
- Select the intended style.
- Add the cosmetic back to the preset.
This is the right branch when the item is present and the problem is how a preset applies its appearance. It is different from a skin that does not appear in the Locker at all. Remove and re-add the cosmetic with the desired style instead of treating a style mismatch as proof that the item is missing from the account.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When to contact Epic Games Support
Contact Epic Games Support if the skin remains missing after you have checked the Epic account, cleared Locker filters, searched Archived items, and confirmed any relevant platform account link or purchase details. Include useful information such as the item name, the account you believe owns it, how it was obtained, when you noticed it was missing, and which checks you completed.
For a recent console or Samsung-device purchase that remains unavailable after the account, timing, and reinstall steps, Epic’s guidance is to contact the relevant console or platform support team. For other unexplained Locker issues, Epic directs players to Support after the account and Locker checks. A clear description of what you checked can help distinguish a filtered or archived item from a cross-device or recent-purchase issue.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
That compatibility caveat is broad, so it should not be used to guess that a specific skin is unavailable in a particular mode or experience. If the cosmetic is absent from the Locker, work through the account and visibility checks. If the item is there but does not appear as expected in a particular experience, keep in mind that compatibility can vary, but Epic’s general statement does not identify a specific skin-to-experience restriction.
Quick checklist before you escalate
- Confirm the active Epic account against the purchase receipt or the account used to earn or claim the item.
- Open the correct Locker category, clear filters, apply the change, and search again.
- Check the Archived filter and use Unarchive Item if you find the cosmetic there.
- If the issue is limited to another device, verify which platform account is linked to the Epic account holding the progress.
- If the purchase is recent and was made on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or Samsung, verify the account and device timing details and allow up to two hours.
- For the applicable recent-purchase issue, follow Epic’s reinstall guidance and then contact the relevant platform support team if it is still unavailable.
- If the cosmetic is visible but the preset has the wrong style, remove it, choose the intended style, and add it back.
These checks are useful because they separate a hidden item, an account mismatch, a cross-device link issue, a purchase delay, and a preset-style problem. They do not establish that every missing item has the same cause, and they do not create a way to transfer cosmetics between Epic accounts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can archived Fortnite skins be deleted?
No. Epic says Archive hides cosmetics from the Locker and Emote Wheel without deleting them. Filter for Archived in the relevant cosmetic category, open the item menu, and choose Unarchive Item to return it to the main Locker.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Can Epic move a skin from one Epic account to another?
Epic says a Fortnite item or cosmetic cannot be manually transferred between Epic accounts. It stays with the account where it was bought, earned, or claimed. A recently bought item may have a conditional cancellation or return option if it is still in the Item Shop and you have a Cancel Purchase or Return Ticket available, but that is not a guaranteed transfer or refund.
Why does a skin show on one device but not another?
Check whether the platform account used on the device is linked to the active Epic account that holds the progress. Epic says progress across devices depends on those links. The same platform account cannot be linked to multiple Epic accounts, and differing progress cannot simply be combined.
How long should I wait for a Fortnite purchase to appear?
For purchases made on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or Samsung devices, Epic says it can take up to two hours. Confirm the Epic account used for the purchase and check the console date, time, and time zone. If it remains unavailable, Epic suggests reinstalling Fortnite from the account used to buy it, then contacting the relevant platform support team if needed.
What if the skin is in my Locker but has the wrong style in a preset?
Epic recommends removing the cosmetic from the affected preset, selecting the intended style, and adding the cosmetic back. That addresses a preset style issue, rather than a missing item.

The Bottom Line
A missing Fortnite skin is often a matter of the active Epic account, Locker filters, Archived items, a device account link, or a recent purchase that has not appeared yet. Check those possibilities in order, and use the preset reset only when the cosmetic is visible but its style is wrong. Epic does not manually transfer items between Epic accounts; contact the appropriate support team if the relevant checks do not resolve the issue.
