Into the Unjust launched on September 2, 2025, promising a free major update built around subterranean Hive Worlds. After release, players complained about crashes, performance drops and bugs, and contemporaneous reporting said Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani acknowledged that the update had missed the mark on stability. What Into the Unjust promised
Arrowhead described Into the Unjust as the fourth major Helldivers 2 update. Its September 2 launch was free, and its headline additions were Hive Worlds, missions and Terminid enemies. Community Manager Katherine Baskin wrote in the Xbox Wire announcement: “The update arrives for free today, bringing new Hive Worlds to liberate, fresh missions, Terminid enemies, and more.”

The promised setting was a sharp change of pace: Hive Worlds shrouded by the Gloom, with cave networks and Terminids that burrow underground. The PlayStation preview also warned that squads would have less support from their Super Destroyer inside the caves.
What players complained about after launch
In coverage published the day after release, Rock Paper Shotgun reported player complaints about crashes, performance drops and bugs. The outlet also reported that Jorjani acknowledged the update’s stability problems. This was a reported response, not a complete primary transcript of his remarks.

The complaints pointed to a gap between the update’s distinctive new environment and players’ experiences with its technical reliability. That distinction matters: the reports establish that players raised these problems, not that all players encountered them or that the update failed for the community as a whole.
What the Steam comments show—and what they cannot
Comments on Arrowhead’s September 24, 2025 State of the Game Update #1 thread offer examples of the concerns players voiced. One reply referred to “low frame rates and crashes on high-end PCs”; other comments included “No more landing on caves” and “Long overdue bug fixes.” The thread also covered other subjects.

On February 3, 2026, Arrowhead’s 4.1.0 patch notes described a focus on stability, balance and player-reported pain points. Arrowhead said the patch fixed more than 200 bugs. That figure refers to the later patch; it is not a count of bugs in the September launch or a measure of how many player reports were resolved. The notes document follow-up work, but do not establish that every launch issue was fixed.
